Packers' Xavier McKinney: Green light to play Week 8
McKinney (ankle/knee) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Steelers, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
McKinney tweaked his ankle and knee during the Packers' Week 7 win over the Cardinals. Those injuries limited his practice participation Wednesday and Thursday, but he faded an injury designation for Week 8 after practicing in full Friday. The sixth-year safety has opened the season with 36 tackles (16 solo) and three pass defenses (one interception) through six regular-season games.

Packers' Xavier McKinney: Picks up ankle injury
McKinney (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
McKinney has not missed a defensive snap so far this season, but he appears to have hurt his ankle in this past Sunday's win over Arizona, during which he finished with eight tackles and a defensed pass. The veteran safety may not be dealing with a major issue, though, since he was able to practice in a limited fashion to begin the week. If McKinney can return to full practice participation by the end of Friday, he should be fully cleared to suit up against the Steelers on Sunday.

McKinney played 100 percent of Green Bay's defensive snaps for the third consecutive game and has now recorded 15 total tackles and two passes defended, including one interception, so far this season. He's expected to remain of the NFL's premier safeties ahead of a Week 4 matchup against the Cowboys.
