Hurricanes' Ryan Suzuki: Collects three points in win
Suzuki scored a goal on three shots and added two assists in AHL Chicago's 6-5 win over Rockford on Sunday.
Suzuki played in his first two NHL games last year, but he's not ready to be a regular for the Hurricanes. The 24-year-old would likely benefit from a change of scenery, though Carolina has given no indication that will happen any time soon. Suzuki has five points in three games this season after logging 12 goals and 59 points in 69 regular-season appearances with the Wolves in 2024-25.

Hurricanes' K'Andre Miller: Earns pair of assists
Miller registered two helpers, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.
Miller has a pair of multi-point efforts over his five games this season. He's at two goals, two helpers, 12 shots on net, six hits, seven blocked shots, eight PIM and a plus-4 rating. The 25-year-old has filled a top-four role at even strength while seeing power-play time, and his usage in the latter situation could increase if Shayne Gostisbehere (lower body) misses time. Miller's advantageous usage could eventually fade as Alexander Nikishin adjusts to the pace of NHL play, but for now, the former is a decent depth add in fantasy for his well-rounded production.

Hurricanes' Jesperi Kotkaniemi: Lights lamp Saturday
Kotkaniemi scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.
Kotkaniemi was a healthy scratch for the first two games of the road trip, but he replaced Mark Jankowski for Saturday's contest. The days of the Hurricanes tolerating mediocrity from Kotkaniemi are apparently over -- he'll have to earn his place in the lineup, likely on the fourth line, now that Logan Stankoven is centering the second line. Kotkaniemi has two points, three shots on net, three hits and a plus-2 rating through three appearances, but his limited role offers minimal fantasy upside.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Clutches up again
Jarvis scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.
Per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site, Jarvis is the first player in NHL history to score four game-winners within a team's first five games of the season. The 23-year-old kept the Hurricanes from a total collapse, scoring at 1:45 of overtime after the Kings erased a 3-0 deficit. Jarvis has six goals on the year, and of his four game-winners, two have come in overtime. He's added two assists, 22 shots on net and a plus-5 rating. He's a gamer, and while he's already an established 30-goal threat, he could take his offense to new levels in 2025-26.

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Crosses 300-goal mark in career
Staal scored twice on four shots, added two hits, went plus-2 and won 20 of 22 faceoffs in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.
Staal set the tone with a pair of goals within the first four minutes of the game. His first goal Saturday was the 300th of his career, coming in his 1,333rd regular-season appearance. Given his defensive role for much of his career, it's an impressive milestone for the 37-year-old to reach. He's up to three goals, eight shots, 10 hits and a plus-5 rating across five outings in 2025-26.

Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Collects second win
Bussi stopped 25 of 28 shots in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.
The Kings overcame a 3-0 deficit to force overtime, but Bussi won his second career start when Seth Jarvis tallied for the Hurricanes 1:45 into the extra session. The 27-year-old Bussi is providing reliable backup netminding to keep Frederik Andersen fresh early in the season. With four goals allowed on 45 shots, Bussi has looked the part of an NHL netminder in his first two games. Expect Andersen to get the start Monday in Vegas, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Bussi play in one of the Hurricanes' last two games of the road trip.

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Suffers injury Saturday
Gostisbehere (lower body) won't return to Saturday's game versus the Kings.
Gostisbehere's injury puts the Hurricanes' defense in a bad spot. Jaccob Slavin (lower body) is not expected to play during the current road trip, which has three more games. This could force Charles-Alexis Legault into action for his NHL debut Monday in Vegas if Gostisbehere can't suit up.

Hurricanes' Brandon Bussi: Set to start Saturday
Bussi is expected to guard the road crease against LA on Saturday, per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.
Bussi will make his second career start after saving 16 of 17 shots en route to a 5-1 win over San Jose on Tuesday. Although more is expected of the Kings than the Sharks this season, LA has gotten off to a rough start. The Kings are 1-3-1 and rank 27th in goals per game with 2.60 this year.

Hurricanes' Jayden Perron: Big performer in blowout win
Perron scored twice on three shots and added an assist in the University of Michigan's 10-2 win over Robert Morris University on Friday.
Nearly every Wolverine was involved on offense, but Perron's performance was among the best. He's up to five points in six games this season after logging a total of 37 points across 70 outings with the University of North Dakota in his first two NCAA seasons. Perron is a Hurricanes prospect who was selected in the third round in 2023.

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Contributes three helpers
Gostisbehere notched three assists, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Gostisbehere is hot to start 2025-26 with a goal and six helpers over four contests. One of his three helpers came on the power play Thursday, good for his first point with the man advantage this season. He continues to play a prominent role, especially while Jaccob Slavin (lower body) is out. Gostisbehere has added eight blocked shots, six shots on net and a plus-9 rating to supplement his high-end offense early in the campaign.

Hurricanes' Alexander Nikishin: Buries first goal
Nikishin scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Nikishin has opened the season with a four-game point streak consisting of one goal and three assists. His tally Thursday was the first of his NHL career. The 24-year-old rookie has added eight shots on net, 10 hits, five blocked shots and a plus-6 rating. While he's been at least somewhat sheltered on the Hurricanes' third pairing, his adjustment to the NHL is clearly going well, and he offers multi-category upside in fantasy.

Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: One of each Thursday
Aho scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Aho's points came in the third period, as he set up an Alexander Nikishin goal early in the frame before scoring one of his own with 4:12 left in the contest. The goal was Aho's first of the season to go with five assists, nine shots on net, four hits and a plus-2 rating through four games. The top-line center is among the most consistent players in the league and should hover around a point-per-game pace or better in 2025-26.

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Three-point effort in win
Jarvis scored twice on seven shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Jarvis had the Hurricanes' first two goals of the game, including a power-play tally midway through the second period that was the game-winner. He also set up Sebastian Aho's insurance tally in the third. Jarvis has had a superb start to 2025-26 with five goals, two assists, 16 shots on net and a plus-4 rating across four appearances. As long as he's on the Hurricanes' top line, he's poised for high-end scoring, and he also can chip in some physicality while seeing time in all situations.

Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Cruises to win
Andersen stopped 23 of 24 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Ducks.
Andersen allowed a goal to Leo Carlsson in the second period, but that was the extent of the damage in a game the Hurricanes controlled throughout. This was Andersen's third straight start to begin the season and his best performance of the three. He's allowed seven goals on 69 shots in those games, though the Hurricanes' defense has largely prevented him from seeing too many pucks. The road trip continues with a game in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Starting in Anaheim
Andersen will protect the road goal versus the Ducks on Thursday, Ducks PA announcer Phil Hulett reports.
Andersen will get his third start in four games to begin the season. He's won his first two outings, but he's allowed six goals on 45 shots. The Ducks' offense has been lively so far with 12 goals over three contests.
