Maple Leafs' Vinni Lettieri: Three points for Marlies in win
Lettieri scored a goal on six shots and added two assists in AHL Toronto's 3-2 win over Utica on Sunday.
Lettieri is one of a handful of experienced NHL players on the Marlies' roster, so he'll have plenty of competition for potential call-ups. His performance Sunday accounted for his first scoring contributions in three contests this season. The 30-year-old has always been good for a dash of depth scoring with plenty of physical play when he gets an NHL chance.

Maple Leafs' Borya Valis: Another two-goal AHL game
Valis scored twice on five shots in AHL Toronto's 2-1 overtime win over Belleville on Saturday.
Valis has a pair of two-goal games over three total contests to begin his AHL campaign. The 21-year-old winger is quickly proving himself as a scoring threat with the Marlies, which could earn him a look with the Maple Leafs at some point. That said, a full season of play in the minors could benefit his development rather than rushing him to the NHL.

Maple Leafs' Morgan Rielly: Strong start to season continues
Rielly scored a goal Saturday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Kraken.
The defender took a pass from Auston Matthews on a 2-on-1 and went blocker side on Joey Daccord from just below the top of the left faceoff circle. Rielly has been a great source of offense on a team that's been a bit wobbly to start the campaign. He has two goals, four assists and 19 shots in six games.

Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Frustrated after OT loss
Stolarz made 24 saves in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Kraken.
It was a rough game for Stolarz, who was repeatedly run into and knocked down by opponents. He was critical of his teammates after the game for not crashing the Kraken net with the same aggressiveness. The netminder was also unhappy with his team's lack of competitiveness in the extra frame. Stolarz is 2-2-1 with a 2.79 GAA and .897 save percentage so far, and he's stepping into a leadership role with the squad. The Leafs need that, given their queasy start to the season.

Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Third straight multi-point game
Nylander had two assists Saturday in a 4-3 overtime loss to Seattle.
It was his third straight multi-point game (one goal, six assists). Nylander continues to lead the Leafs with 11 points (two goals, nine helpers) in six games. Matthew Knies sits second with eight points.

Maple Leafs' John Tavares: Two goals and major milestone
Tavares scored two goals in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Seattle.
Tavares reached 500 points in his 521st regular-season game with Toronto on Saturday. He became one of only four players to have at least 500 points with two different teams, joining an elite list with Ron Francis, Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky. Tavares also has 497 goals, including three this season.

Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Set to start Saturday
Stolarz is expected to start at home against Seattle on Saturday, Dave McCarthy of NHL.com reports.
Stolarz has a 2-2-0 record, 2.52 GAA and .907 save percentage in four outings this season. Stolarz made 28 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Rangers on Thursday. Seattle is 2-0-2 and has scored 12 goals across those four games.

Maple Leafs' Matthew Knies: Three-game, six-point streak
Knies scored a power-play goal Thursday in a 2-1 overtime win over the Rangers.
Knies redirected a shot from William Nylander at the top of the crease at 11:48 of the first period. It was Knies' second goal and the Leafs first power-play goal of the season (10 opportunities). Knies has six points (two goals, four assists) during a three-game point streak.

Maple Leafs' Easton Cowan: Replaced on top line
Cowan was charged with five giveaways in Thursday's 2-1 overtime win over the Rangers.
The rookie struggled and was ultimately replaced on the top line by Bobby McMann late in the game. Cowan has plenty of potential, but it's a huge leap from the OHL to the NHL.

Maple Leafs' William Nylander: Adds two apples in overtime win
Nylander put up two assists Thursday in a 2-1 overtime win over the Rangers.
Nylander, who took the morning skate off, now sits at nine points (two goals, seven assists) in five games (nine shots). He leads the Leafs in scoring this season. Nylander is on a near-150 point pace, which is largely impossible, but he should be in the mix to smash his 98-point career high mark (2023-24).

Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Remains productive in OT win
Matthews scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 2-1 overtime victory over the Rangers.
Matthews and William Nylander broke away on a 2-on-1 early in the overtime frame, and Matthews tapped the winner past Igor Shesterkin. Matthews is starting to pick up the pace with four goals, one assist and 22 shots in five games this season. He has also used his body well with three blocks in each of the Leafs' five games so far. Matthews' overtime goal tied Mats Sundin for the most overtime goals (14) in franchise history. He has four points (three goals, one assist) during a three-game point streak.

Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Steals game from Rangers
Stolarz made 28 saves in a 2-1 overtime win over the Rangers on Thursday.
Stolarz was the difference maker Thursday. He had to fend off several 2-on-1 plays and made a few cross-crease stretches to keep his team in the game. The Leafs have been scoring less this season than in years past, so they will need Stolarz to excel like this until they figure out the little things, like fixing their breakouts.

Maple Leafs' Steven Lorentz: Healthy scratch Thursday
Lorentz (upper body) will be a healthy scratch versus the Rangers on Thursday, per Mark Masters of TSN.
Lorentz missed the last two games with the injury, but head coach Craig Berube said after practice Thursday that Lorentz is available to play but he will be a healthy scratch. Lorentz could return as early as Saturday when Toronto is home to Seattle.

Maple Leafs' Steven Lorentz: Slated to miss another game
Lorentz (upper body) stayed out after the Maple Leafs' morning skate Thursday, Mark Masters of TSN reports, signaling that he'll miss the Maple Leafs' matchup against the Rangers.
Lorentz will be kept off the ice for a third consecutive matchup, which should allow Easton Cowan to remain in the lineup. However, head coach Craig Berube said after Thursday's morning skate that Lorentz was available but was being held out due to not wanting to break up a winning lineup, per Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun, which suggests that the 29-year-old is close to full health after dealing with an upper-body injury. Lorentz's next opportunity to return to action will be Saturday against Seattle.

Maple Leafs' Anthony Stolarz: Defending home crease
Stolarz will start at home against the Rangers on Thursday, Mark Masters of TSN reports.
Stolarz has taken losses in each of his last two starts, but he'll attempt to bounce back Thursday against the Rangers, who have gotten off to a slow start this year by averaging just 2.00 goals, which is tied for the second-worst mark in the league. During his two-game skid, Stolarz posted a 3.58 GAA and .854 save percentage.

Maple Leafs' Simon Benoit: Records assist in win
Benoit notched an assist and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Predators.
Benoit picked up his first point of the season on an Oliver Ekman-Larsson tally in the first period. The 27-year-old Benoit has brought plenty of grit to a third-pairing role, adding 10 hits, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over four appearances. His lack of offense is too much to overcome for most fantasy managers -- the defenseman has never had more than 10 points in a season, but he has topped the 200-hit mark in three straight campaigns.
