Nets' Jalen Wilson: Wins roster spot in Brooklyn
Wilson won a roster spot Sunday, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Along with Tyrese Martin, Wilson survived the roster crunch in Brooklyn and his contract helped the franchise reach the salary floor. The 24-year-old averaged 9.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists across 25.7 minutes per game over 79 regular-season appearances (22 starts) in 2024-25.

Nets' Tyrese Martin: Makes final roster
Martin made Brooklyn's final roster, Michael Scotto of USA Today reported Sunday.
The 26-year-old wing appeared in 60 regular-season games (11 starts) last season, averaging 8.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 21.9 minutes per contest. He was in a battle to claim one of Brooklyn's final roster spots, and the team opted to keep him and Jalen Wilson for the 2025-26 campaign.

Nets' Haywood Highsmith: Extended absence looming
Highsmith (knee) experienced swelling during rehab recently and will be re-evaluated in eight weeks, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Highsmith had hoped to be ready for Opening Night, but swelling in his right knee following Aug. 8 surgery has pushed back his return timetable significantly. Traded from the Heat on Aug. 15, the 28-year-old was expected to serve as a veteran depth piece in the frontcourt and will now look to fill that role later in the season once fully healthy.

Nets' Hunter Cattoor: Inks pact with Brooklyn
Cattoor agreed to a contract with the Nets on Friday, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.
Cattoor likely signed a non-guaranteed pact with Brooklyn, and the team now owns his G League rights. The 24-year-old appeared in four Summer League games with Cleveland this offseason, where he averaged 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 steals across 16.7 minutes per game.

Nets' Egor Demin: Efficient in preseason debut
Demin posted 14 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one block across 19 minutes during Friday's 119-114 preseason loss to the Raptors.
Demin was cleared to make his preseason debut Friday after recovering from a plantar fascia tear, and he certainly looked like he belonged. The 19-year-old rookie took full advantage of his opportunities on the offensive end and crashed the glass. The BYU product was unable to crack the 20-minute mark in his first and only action of the preseason, so expect him to be limited when Brooklyn opens up the 2025-26 regular season Wednesday in Charlotte.

Nets' Nic Claxton: Secures preseason double-double
Claxton recorded 13 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block in 28 minutes during Friday's 119-114 preseason loss to the Raptors.
Claxton posted a strong showing on the offensive end and was one of two starters to score in double digits. The big man also showed up on the boards, where he snagged a team-high 11 rebounds. Claxton will be in search of a bounce-back campaign heading into the 2025-26 regular season after seeing a noticeable dip in his scoring and rebounding averages a year ago.

Nets' Ziaire Williams: Scores 20 points in 28 minutes
Williams recorded 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt), two rebounds and one steal in 28 minutes off the bench during Friday's 119-114 preseason loss to Toronto.
Williams is a capable, albeit inconsistent, scorer. He'll have a ton of opportunities in Brooklyn this season, but he rarely brings much to the stat sheet outside of points and triples.

Nets' Michael Porter: Double-doubles in loss
Porter posted 34 points (12-20 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 10 rebounds, three assists and four turnovers across 33 minutes in the Nets' 119-114 preseason loss to Toronto on Friday.
Porter was supposedly feeling under the weather coming into this one, but that clearly didn't impact him while he was on the court. Porter is going to get all the shots he can handle as one of the primary offensive options in Brooklyn, so he could be in for a career year as he enters his age-27 season.

Nets' Nolan Traore: Won't start Friday
Traore won't start in Friday's preseason game against Toronto.
With Ben Saraf entering the starting five, Traore will come off the bench in Brooklyn's preseason finale. The 19-year-old point guard is expected to compete for significant playing time with Egor Demin and Saraf in the 2025-26 campaign.

Nets' Michael Porter: Suiting up Friday
Porter (illness) will play in Friday's preseason game against Toronto.
Head coach Jordi Fernandez said pregame that Porter "isn't feeling good," but he'll suit up in the team's preseason finale. The 27-year-old forward is expected to serve as one of Brooklyn's top offensive options in the 2025-26 campaign.

Nets' Ben Saraf: Starting preseason finale
Saraf will start Friday's preseason finale against the Raptors.
Saraf will replace Nolan Traore, who started Brooklyn's previous two preseason games. Fellow rookie Egor Demin is also available to make his preseason debut and will see minutes at point guard.

Nets' Michael Porter: Iffy Friday
Head coach Jordi Fernandez said Porter (illness) "isn't feeling good" ahead of Friday's preseason game against the Raptors, and he'll go through his pregame warmups before a final decision is made on his availability, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.
Porter is expected to be a game-time decision ahead of Friday's tipoff at 7:00 p.m. ET. If the forward is unable to suit up, Noah Clowney and Danny Wolf are candidates for an uptick in playing time in the team's preseason finale.

Nets' Egor Demin: To make debut Friday
Demin (foot) will make his preseason debut Friday against the Raptors, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Demin has been recovering from a plantar fascia tear, which has robbed him of most of Brooklyn's training camp. Demin was the projected starting point guard heading into camp, so it will be interesting to see how he fares Friday. He's likely to have restrictions in his first game back, to be clear.

Nets' Egor Demin: Goes through 5-on-5
Demin participated in a five-on-five scrimmage at Tuesday's practice, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
This is a pretty big milestone in Demin's recovery from his plantar fascia tear. Demin's status for the preseason finale against Toronto on Friday remains in the air, but his chances of suiting up for Opening Night are trending up.

Nets' Malachi Smith: Signed by Nets
The Nets signed Smith to a contract on Tuesday, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
This is likely an Exhibit 10 deal for the former Memphis Hustle standout. Smith is expected to end up with the Long Island Nets in the G League.

Nets' Terry Roberts: Inks pact with Brooklyn
Roberts agreed to a training camp contract with the Nets on Monday, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports.
Roberts will join the Nets on a non-guaranteed contract, though it's more likely he'll play for the club's G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets, in the 2025-26 season. Over 31 appearances with Long Island last year, he averaged 6.7 points, 5.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals across 25.7 minutes per game.

Nets' Ziaire Williams: Pops for four threes
Williams produced 15 points (5-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and four rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 111-109 preseason win over the Suns in Macao.
The fifth-year forward led the Nets in made threes in an efficient performance with the second unit. Williams is coming off a solid first season with Brooklyn in 2024-25, setting new career highs in points (10.0), boards (4.6), threes (1.6), steals (1.0) and minutes (24.5) per game, and he figures to fill a similar role this season in the team's rotation.

Nets' Ben Saraf: Eleven dimes off bench Sunday
Saraf scored four points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and added 11 assists, four rebounds and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 111-109 preseason win over the Suns in Macao.
The rookie point guard flashed some impressive distribution skills, as no other player in the game managed more than five assists in the contest. Saraf, the 26th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, is beginning to make a strong case to be the Opening Night starter at the point while the Nets wait for eighth overall pick Egor Demin (foot) to get healthy.

Nets' Michael Porter: Drains three treys Sunday
Porter delivered 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT) while adding four rebounds and two steals over 24 minutes in Sunday's 111-109 preseason win over the Suns in Macao.
The former Nugget continues to adapt well to his new system and teammates. Porter could be in line for career-best numbers in Brooklyn as one of the main pieces in an offense that isn't dominated by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, after he produced 18.2 points, 7.0 boards, 2.5 threes and 2.1 assists over 77 regular-season games in Denver last season.
