Sabres' Zac Jones: Recalled by Buffalo
Jones was recalled from AHL Rochester on Sunday.
Jones was sent to the minors ahead of the regular season and has recorded four assists and a minus-4 rating over four appearances in the AHL to begin the year. He made 46 regular-season appearances for the Rangers last year and will join the Sabres to provide additional depth after Jacob Bryson landed in the concussion protocol Saturday.

Sabres' Noah Ostlund: Recalled from AHL
Ostlund was recalled by the Sabres from AHL Rochester, the team announced Sunday.
With a plethora of forwards on injured reserve, Ostlund is among the reinforcements for the Sabres from the AHL. The 21-year-old has appeared in just eight NHL games to this point, all coming last season, and is still seeking his first NHL point. He is lighting up the AHL in the early going this season, registering five points in four games.

Sabres' Owen Power: Adds insurance goal
Power scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Panthers.
Power missed the season opener due to an illness, but he has played in the last four games. The 22-year-old has two points, seven shots on net, five hits, four blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating while occupying a top-four role. Power is seeing time in all situations, and while he's not a physical player, he has enough scoring potential to carry upside in fantasy.

Sabres' Josh Doan: Lights lamp twice on power play
Doan scored two power-play goals, one the game-winner, in Saturday's 3-0 victory over the Panthers. He added a team-high six shots on net, two hits and two PIM to his ledger.
Josh's dad, Shane Doan, had 128 career tallies with the man advantage during an impressive 21-year NHL career, and the 23-year-old second-generation player already has five among his first 14 goals at the top level. After getting held off the scoresheet in his first three games as a Sabre, Doan has erupted for five points (two goals, three helpers) in the last two as he works to solidify his spot in the top six and on the first power-play unit.

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Blanks champs for second win
Lyon stopped 32 shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Panthers.
The 32-year-old netminder got staked to an early lead thanks to a pair of Josh Doan power-play tallies, and Lyon was able to handle Florida's attempts at a comeback. It was the fifth career shutout for Lyon, and his first of the season. Through five starts, he's gone 2-3-0 with a 2.43 GAA and .929 save percentage. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (lower body) returned to Tuesday's practice but doesn't have a target date for his return, so Lyon will continue handling the No. 1 role for the Sabres.

Sabres' Justin Danforth: Placed on injured reserve
Danforth (lower body) was put on injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
Danforth left Wednesday's 8-4 win over Ottawa because of the injury, and he will be on the shelf for at least a month. The 32-year-old has no point, a minus-2 rating, two PIM, two shots, three hits and four blocks in four appearances this year. Mason Geertsen, who was a healthy scratch for two of Buffalo's opening four games, might play regularly on the fourth line while Danforth is unavailable.

Sabres' Jacob Bryson: In concussion protocol
Bryson was put in the concussion protocol Saturday, per Heather Engel of NHL.com.
Bryson suffered the injury when he fell awkwardly into the boards during Buffalo's 3-0 victory over Florida on Saturday. The 27-year-old defenseman's placement in the concussion protocol suggests he'll probably miss at least some time. Zach Metsa is likely to draw into the lineup while Bryson is absent.

Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Suffers injury Saturday
Bryson will not return to Saturday's game against Florida due to an upper-body injury.
Bryson fell awkwardly into the boards after a collision with Florida's Jonah Gadjovich and did not return to the bench after the first intermission on Saturday. The 27-year-old has averaged just 11:30 of ice time per game this season, and with just 44 points in 259 career NHL regular-season games, his potential absence likely won't impact many fantasy lineups. If the injury forces Bryson to miss any time, Zach Metsa could make his NHL debut.

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Starting Saturday
Lyon will be between the home pipes versus Florida on Saturday, according to Heather Engel of NHL.com.
Lyon will make his fifth straight start due to the absence of Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (lower body). Lyon finally picked up his first win of the season, stopping 33 shots in an 8-4 victory over Ottawa on Wednesday. He has a 1-3-0 record with a 3.05 GAA and a .912 save percentage. Florida has posted 2.50 goals per game this season.

Sabres' Mattias Samuelsson: Expected to play
Samuelsson (upper body) is expected to be in the lineup against Florida on Saturday.
Samuelsson should return from a two-game absence after being a full participant in Friday's practice. He has contributed one assist, one shot on goal, five blocked shots and five hits across two appearances this season. With Samuelsson poised to return, Zach Metsa will probably be a healthy scratch after being recalled from AHL Rochester on Thursday.

Sabres' Isak Rosen: Stays hot for Rochester
Rosen scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Rochester's 7-4 win over Urica.
Rosen is off to a sizzling start with six points across three AHL games this season. All three of his goals have come on the power play. The 22-year-old still needs some development time in the AHL, but if he continues to play at a high level, he could challenge Josh Dunne, Tyson Kozak or Mason Geertsen for their spots on the Sabres' roster.

Sabres' Justin Danforth: Out more than a month
Per Heather Engel of NHL.com, Danforth (lower body) will miss more than one month, according to head coach Lindy Ruff on Friday.
Danforth was injured Wednesday versus the Senators. He has yet to pick up a point in four games this season. Expect Danforth to return in a bottom-six role, when he comes back, likely in November or December.

Sabres' Zach Metsa: Recalled by Buffalo
Metsa was recalled from AHL Rochester on Thursday.
Metsa hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but he'll join the Sabres to provide additional depth after Ryan Johnson was sent down Thursday. It's not yet clear whether Mattias Samuelsson (upper body) or Michael Kesselring (lower body) will be able to suit up Saturday against Florida, but Metsa will be a candidate to see playing time if they're sidelined.

Sabres' Ryan Johnson: Heads to AHL
Johnson was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Thursday, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports.
Johnson has no points, two PIM, two hits and three blocks in three appearances with the Sabres this year. His return to the minors might be a sign that Mattias Samuelsson (upper body) or Michael Kesselring (lower body) will be able to return Saturday versus Florida. If that's not the case, the Sabres will need to recall a defenseman since they're down to five healthy blueliners on the roster without Samuelsson and Kesselring.

Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Gathers assist
Bryson logged an assist, two blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Senators.
Bryson won a depth role in training camp over Zac Jones and has played in all four games this season. Injuries to Mattias Samuelsson (upper body) and Michael Kesselring (lower body) have helped to keep Bryson in the lineup on the third pairing. Bryson has an assist, one shot on net, four blocks and a plus-1 rating and will likely return to the press box when the Sabres get healthier.

Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Provides assist
Krebs notched an assist, four hits and two PIM in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Senators.
The helper was Krebs' first point of the season. The 24-year-old was listed on the second line Wednesday but still saw just 12:52 of ice time in the contest. He could stick further in the lineup while Josh Norris (upper body) is out, but it's likely the Sabres try a number of different lineup combinations. Krebs has added four shots on net, nine hits and a minus-2 rating through four appearances.

Sabres' Jiri Kulich: Pots empty-netter
Kulich scored an empty-net goal, logged two hits, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 8-4 win over the Senators.
With Tage Thompson moving back to center in the absence of Josh Norris (upper body), Kulich dropped to the fourth line for this game. The empty-netter was Kulich's first goal and point of the season. He's added eight shots on net, six blocked shots, three hits and a minus-6 rating over four outings. If he remains in a bottom-six role, the 21-year-old won't have much fantasy appeal, but it's possible he spends the season floating around the lineup as necessary.
