Suns' Dillon Brooks: Elbowed in practice
Brooks (face) received six stitches Saturday after a collision in the day's practice, Shane Young of Forbes.com reports.
Brooks took an elbow to the face during Saturday's practice but downplayed the severity of the injury. The veteran wing, who joined the Suns in June as part of the Kevin Durant trade with the Rockets, averaged 14.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists across 75 regular-season appearances last year. With the team set to open the 2025-26 season Wednesday against the Kings, the stitches Brooks received aren't expected to impact his availability.

Suns' Mark Williams: On track for Opening Night
Williams (undisclosed) is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
Williams is slated to continue participating in team scrimmages in preparation for Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Kings. The big man has yet to reach the 50-game threshold in any of his first three seasons, though he's on track to begin this year with a clean bill of health.

Suns' Grayson Allen: Starting role with Green out
Suns head coach Jordan Ott said Allen (rest) will be in the starting lineup for the Suns while Jalen Green (hamstring) is out, Kellan Olson of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Green is dealing with a hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined to start the regular season. Allen will assume the starting role during that time period. Allen started in six regular-season games during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 14.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals per game, shooting 42.6 percent from the floor and 45.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Suns' Nigel Hayes-Davis: Fares well as starter
Hayes-Davis produced 10 points (4-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes of Tuesday's 113-104 preseason win over the Lakers.
Hayes-Davis drew the start at power forward with the Suns resting the bulk of their rotation Tuesday. Hayes-Davis agreed to a fully guaranteed one-year contract on the opening day of free agency after a successful stint overseas. He's likely to compete with Oso Ighodaro for some backup power forward minutes this season.

Suns' Jordan Goodwin: Drops 24 points in preseason win
Goodwin turned in 24 points (10-20 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), six assists, four rebounds and one steal across 37 minutes in Tuesday's 113-104 preseason win over the Lakers.
Goodwin drew the start Tuesday and led all players with 37 minutes, turning in an efficient scoring performance in the victory. The guard joined the Suns in July after being waived by the Lakers, following a 2024-25 campaign in which he averaged 5.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.0 steals across 29 regular-season appearances in 18.7 minutes per game.

Suns' Khaman Maluach: Impressive showing in preseason win
Maluach tallied 17 points (8-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, three steals, two blocks and two assists across 31 minutes in Tuesday's 113-104 preseason win over the Lakers.
Maluach showcased exactly why he was taken No. 10 overall in the 2025 NBA Draft on Tuesday, even connecting on a rare three-pointer. The Duke product is a gifted physical specimen, enabling him to be a force around the rim on both ends of the court. While still considered somewhat raw, Maluach's preseason performance is an encouraging sign for the Suns as they determine how much playing time and responsibility to give him during his rookie campaign.

Suns' Jared Butler: Stuffs stat sheet in preseason win
Butler posted 35 points (14-26 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-6 FT), nine assists, seven rebounds and one steal across 34 minutes in Tuesday's 113-104 preseason win over the Lakers.
Butler got the starting nod with Phoenix's usual starters sidelined, erupting for a game-high 35 points. Additionally, the 25-year-old guard led all players in assists and finished as the Suns' second-leading rebounder. Butler joined the team in free agency after the 76ers declined his team option for the 2025-26 campaign, and he'll provide backcourt depth for Phoenix behind Devin Booker (rest) and Jalen Green (hamstring).

Suns' Khaman Maluach: Starting Tuesday
Maluach is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's exhibition against the Lakers, Daniel Starkand of LakersNation.com reports.
Maluach is getting the start with Nick Richards (rest) and Oso Ighodaro (rest) joining Mark Williams (undisclosed) on the sidelines, so Maluach could be flirting with 30 minutes Tuesday evening. While he'll have some time to shine in Tuesday's exhibition, he's buried on the depth chart in Phoenix, so he's not worth targeting in most formats.

Suns' Mark Williams: Going through 5-on-5 work
Williams (undisclosed) has progressed to going through 5-on-5 work, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Williams will continue to be held out through Tuesday's preseason finale due to an undisclosed injury, but the fact that he's able to participate in 5-on-5 work is an encouraging sign regarding his status for opening night. While health is a concern, Williams' enormous upside makes him an intriguing player to gamble on as you approach the 80-range on draft day.

Suns' Ryan Dunn: Won't play Tuesday
Dunn (rest) will not suit up for Tuesday's exhibition versus the Lakers, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.
Dunn is sitting out Phoenix's preseason finale, but he'll be good to go by Opening Night. He may see more minutes falling his way early in the season while Jalen Green recovers from a hamstring injury, so Dunn could be someone to consider with a last-round flier in deep leagues.
