Texans' Jayden Higgins: Could see more action Week 7
The Texans have ruled Christian Kirk (hamstring) out for Week 7, per Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle, which may lead to more playing time for Higgins and the rest of the receivers in Monday's game at Seattle.
Higgins' playing time was already on the rise, including a season-high 39 snaps (56 percent) in the Week 5 win over Baltimore, and could reach new heights in Week 7. The activity against the Ravens didn't lead to a touchdown, but Higgins had season highs in targets (four), catches (four) and tied his season high in yards (32). With Kirk unavailable, Higgins, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel should all see increased playing time.

Texans' Jaylin Noel: May benefit from teammate's absence
Noel could see more playing time and targets Week 7 due to Christian Kirk (hamstring) ruled out of Monday's game against Seattle, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Noel is coming off a promising Week 5, when he caught two of three targets, had a red-zone target and scored his first NFL touchdown. When Kirk was healthy, Noel operated as the fifth wideout, but he moves up Week 7. The rookie wideout will help fill the Kirk void along with Xavier Hutchinson and fellow rookie Jayden Higgins. Houston is expected to deploy a gameplan that focuses on running the ball, but if the Seahawks second-ranked run defense (79.0 YPG allowed, second in NFL) shuts it down, then Noel and the receivers will take on a greater profile.

Texans' Xavier Hutchinson: May see larger role Week 7
Hutchinson will likely see more playing time Week 7 with Christian Kirk (hamstring) ruled out against the Seahawks on Monday, Sam Warren of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Hutchinson splashed in Week 5's victory over the Ravens, when he caught two touchdown passes -- the wide receiver's first two scores since being drafted in 2023. He and Jaylin Noel are the most likely beneficiaries of Kirk's absence, although it should be noted that Houston's gameplan is expected to have a run-heavy focus. Head coach DeMeco Ryans talked about leaning on the running backs earlier in the week. Even so, if the running attack is successful, that could benefit the passing game, and targets might accrue to Hutchinson and the rest of the group.

Texans' Tremon Smith: Clear for Monday
Smith (personal) does not have an injury designation ahead of Monday's game against the Seahawks, per the NFL's transaction log.
Smith did not practice Friday but returned to action one day later. He should work primarily on special teams.

Texans' Alijah Huzzie: Debut remains on hold
Huzzie (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Monday's game against the Seahawks.
Huzzie has been on the reserve/non-football injury list all season but returned to practice for the week of preparation ahead of Monday's matchup against Seattle. He practiced in full Saturday, so he could be lining up for a Week 8 debut.

Texans' Denico Autry: Could be back Monday
Autry (knee) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Seahawks.
Autry has been on the PUP list since late July as he recovered from a knee injury. He has been practicing for two full weeks, so he could be ready for his season debut Monday. Autry should have a key role along the Texans' defensive line once he gets fully ramped up.

Texans' Christian Kirk: Won't play against Seattle
Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Seahawks, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Kirk appeared to tweak his hamstring during Friday's practice, and the injury was severe enough to keep the veteran wide receiver off the field for Saturday's session and rule him out for Monday night's game. Kirk's absence opens the door for Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel to see more offensive snaps and looks in the passing game from quarterback C.J. Stroud, especially if the Seahawks' defense hones in on top wideout Nico Collins. Kirk will look to progress enough in his recovery to play in the Texans' Week 8 home clash against the 49ers on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Texans' Christian Kirk: Missing Saturday's practice
Kirk (hamstring) will not participate in Saturday's practice, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kirk popped up on Friday's practice report as a limited participant due to a hamstring injury. His downgrade to a DNP doesn't bode well for his chances of playing against the Seahawks on Monday, and his injury designation should be announced by the Texans following the conclusion of Saturday's practice. The Texans would turn to Xavier Hutchinson and rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel to take on larger roles in the offense behind top wideout Nico Collins if Kirk is not cleared to play against Seattle.

Texans' Woody Marks: May be more involved Week 7
Marks could see an uptick in playing time and touches Week 7 against Seattle on Monday, if the Texans can establish their ground game, as articulated by head coach DeMeco Ryans earlier in the week, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Ryans talked about sustaining drives through the run, which would open up offensive coordinator Nick Caley's playbook. That suggests Marks and starter Nick Chubb could play major roles against the Seahawks, although Seattle's defense has been stingy against the run (79.0 ypg). Marks had a mini-breakout Week 4, when he had a combined 119 yards from scrimmage on 21 touches and a touchdown in a win over the Titans. His touches dropped in Week 5, but Marks has emerged as a potential playmaker for an offense that showed little life over the first three weeks of the season.

Texans' Nick Chubb: In line for busy Monday
Chubb could have a busy Week 7 against Seattle on Monday, if the Texans can establish the running game, as head coach DeMeco Ryans said earlier in the week, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. "When you can run the ball, you can sustain drives," Ryans said. "That's the key. That allows (offensive coordinator Nick) Caley to be able to open up the playbook and call whatever he's installed that particular week."
Establishing the ground attack won't be easy against the Seahawks, who have allowed the second-fewest rushing yards per game (79.0 ypg). Chubb hasn't looked like the former All-Pro he once was in Cleveland, but he has been effective at times. And rookie Woody Marks has emerged as a potential playmaker out of the backfield. Chubb is coming off his best game of the season in Week 5, when he rushed for a season-high 61 yards and a touchdown in a win over the Ravens.

Texans' Tremon Smith: Misses practice Friday
Smith (personal) did not practice Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
There's no word on the nature of the issue or whether it will affect Smith's availability for Monday's matchup against Seattle. Assuming Smith can suit up, he'll contribute primarily on special teams.
