Wilson was on the field for all 53 of Arizona's defensive snaps Sunday but that was still a season-low count for him, and his tackle total was also a season low. The Cardinals have a bye coming up in Week 8, so his next chance to get back on track will come in a Week 9 tilt at Dallas.

Cardinals' Mack Wilson: Leading tackler in loss
Wilson recorded nine total tackles (six solo) and one interception in Sunday's 31-27 loss to the Colts.
The veteran linebacker from Alabama was dealing with an ankle injury prior to the Week 6 contest but still performed well, leading the Cardinals' defense with nine total stops. Additionally, he nabbed his first interception of the season, picking off Daniel Jones in the second quarter of Sunday's loss. Cardinals' Mack Wilson: Operating as starting Mike LB
Coach Jonathan Gannon said that Wilson has done an "excellent" job manning middle linebacker in the Cardinals' first-team defense during the early stages of training camp, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Arizona moved on from MLB Kyzir White this offseason, and Wilson was among the top candidates to take on his role ahead of the 2025 campaign along with Akeem Davis-Gaither. Gannon more or less confirmed that Wilson will be the starting Mike linebacker moving forward, so an increase in his tackle count (75 in 16 regular-season games in 2024) and snap share (74.3 percent) seem likely, assuming he's able to stay on the field. Stud safety Budda Baker is coming off a career-high 164 tackles last year, but White was second among Cardinals defenders with 137 stops, which may be the baseline for Wilson in his new gig.

Wilson posted 75 tackles (including 3.0 sacks), five pass defenses (including one interception) and one fumble recovery in 16 regular-season contests during the 2024 campaign.
Wilson kicked off his career with 82 tackles in 2019 but hasn't reached that mark in five seasons since then. His tackle tally in 2024 was the closest he's come to doing so, which was helped along by a 74.3 percent snap share in the games in which he suited up. With fellow linebacker and unrestricted free agent Kyzir White and his 137 tackles potentially moving on in the offseason, Wilson, who is under contract through 2026, could be poised for a true breakout next season.
