Ravens' Roquan Smith: Optimistic to return Week 8
Smith (hamstring) expressed optimism Monday that he would be cleared to return for the Ravens' Week 8 home clash against the Bears on Sunday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Smith was sidelined for the Ravens' last two games due to a hamstring injury he sustained against the Chiefs in Week 4. He benefited from extra rest courtesy of the Week 7 bye, but his practice participation over the coming week will provide clarity on his chances of returning for Week 8. The veteran linebacker compiled 34 tackles (24 solo) and returned a fumble for a touchdown across four regular-season games prior to his injury.

Ravens' Roquan Smith: Expected back after bye
Head coach John Harbaugh said Smith (hamstring) is expected to make his return during Baltimore's Week 8 matchup versus the Bears, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Smith has been sidelined for the past two games and will now have the team's upcoming bye week to work his way back to full health. The 28-year-old has racked up 34 tackles (24 solo) across four outings this season.

Ravens' Roquan Smith: Ruled out for Week 6
Smith (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Smith will miss a second consecutive game due to a Grade 2 hamstring strain that he suffered during Baltimore's Week 4 loss to Kansas City. The Ravens are on a bye Week 7, so Smith will have extra time to rest and be cleared to play Week 8 against the Bears on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Smith missed Baltimore's Week 5 loss to the Texans after sustaining a Grade 2 hamstring strain the game prior. The Georgia product likely needs to upgrade to at least limited practice Thursday or Friday in order to play in the Week 6 matchup against the Rams. If Smith is sidelined for the second consecutive game Sunday, Trenton Simpson is likely to have an expanded role on the Ravens' defense.
