  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Tosses two TDs in Week 7 start

Brissett completed 25 of 36 passes for 279 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Packers. He added 26 rushing yards on six carries and lost a fumble.

Making his second straight start in place of Kyler Murray (foot), Brissett had another productive performance as he connected with Trey McBride for a 15-yard score in the second quarter and a 12-yard strike in the third. The veteran QB has thrown for 599 yards in place of Murray -- the best two-game stretch of his career -- with a 4:1 TD:INT, but with Arizona on bye in Week 8, Brissett may be returning to the bench for a Week 9 tilt against the Cowboys' porous defense.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Starting for Murray again

Brissett will start in place of an inactive Kyler Murray (foot) on Sunday versus the Packers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Brissett is subbing in for Murray for a second contest in a row after the former completed 27 of 44 passes for 320 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and turned three carries into 19 yards in the Cardinals' Week 6 loss at Indianapolis. In Week 7, though, Brissett will be facing a tougher test in Green Bay's 11th-ranked pass defense (207.2 yards per game). Sunday's outing may be Brissett's last spot start for the foreseeable future, as Murray expected to return to action Week 9 in Dallas after a Week 8 bye, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Slated to start vs. Green Bay

The Cardinals are planning to start Brissett against the Packers on Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The Cardinals are on a bye Week 8, and it appears they will give Kyler Murray additional time to heal from a mid-foot sprain and target a potential return for Week 9 against the Cowboys on Monday, Nov. 3. That puts Brissett in line for a second-straight start while Kedon Slovis serves as the backup quarterback. Brissett played well during Arizona's Week 6 loss to Indianapolis, with the veteran quarterback completing 27 of 44 passes (61.4 percent) for 320 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while adding 19 rushing yards on three carries.

  • Cardinals' Jacoby Brissett: Strong showing in emergency start

Brissett completed 27 of 44 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding three rushes for 19 yards in the Cardinals' 31-27 loss to the Colts on Sunday.

Brissett was called on for the first of what could be multiple starts due to Kyler Murray's foot injury, and the veteran signal-caller delivered in signature fashion. Brissett started slowly but picked up steam despite losing Marvin Harrison to a concussion, leaning heavily on Zay Jones, Trey McBride and Michael Wilson throughout the afternoon. The veteran signal-caller hit McBride and Greg Dortch from one and 12 yards out, respectively for his pair of touchdowns, and he had Arizona in position to take the lead after marching his team 78 yards in 10 plays before a fourth-down incompletion on a play where there may have been some pass interference on McBride. Murray could remain out for a Week 7 home matchup against the Packers, a development that would tee up Brissett for another start
