Bengals' Drew Sample: Handles blocking role in Week 7
Sample didn't draw a target or run a route while playing 39 of the Bengals' 76 offensive snaps in Thursday's 33-31 win over the Steelers.
Sample has always been deployed mainly as a blocker when he's taken the field, but the Bengals took that to an extreme in Week 7. Cincinnati didn't have Tanner Hudson (concussion) available as a depth option at tight end, which may have motivated the decision to scale back Sample's route running and use him exclusively as a blocker behind starter Noah Fant, who moved atop the depth chart due to Mike Gesicki (pectoral) hitting injured reserve.

Bengals' Andrei Iosivas: One big catch
Iosivas had three catches for 49 yards in Thursday's win over the Steelers on four targets. He dropped one pass early in the game.
Iosivas made a big impact late in the third quarter, hauling in a 40-yard reception to convert a 3rd-and-4 play when the Bengals were trying to extend a three-point lead. He's had four-plus targets in three straight games while working primarily behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Iosivas played 70 percent of the offensive snaps Thursday.

Bengals' Samaje Perine: Modest downturn in usage
Perine had seven carries for 31 yards in Thursday night's win over the Steelers. He played 27 offensive snaps, which accounted for 38 percent of the Bengals' offensive snaps.
Perine had registered 47 percent of the offensive snaps over the two previous games, but teammate Chase Brown was running so effectively against the Steelers that it made less sense to replace him with Perine.

Bengals' Logan Wilson: Remains odd man out
Wilson recorded four tackles (one solo) and one pass defensed in Thursday's 33-31 win over the Steelers.
Wilson has been usurped by rookie Barrett Carter, with Carter and Demetrius Knight forming the starting inside-linebacker duo. Wilson did see the field for 26 of 57 defensive snaps (45.6 percent), but he's no longer a reliable IDP contributor.

Bengals' Dax Hill: Quiet showing in win
Hill recorded three tackles (two solo) in Thursday's 33-31 win over the Steelers.
Hill was on the field for every defensive snap, but he still tallied his fewest tackles since Week 3. He still has at least five stops in five of seven contests this season.

Bengals' Geno Stone: Tallies five tackles
Stone recorded five tackles (three solo) and one pass defensed in Thursday's 33-31 win over the Steelers.
Stone played 100 percent of defensive snaps for the fourth time this season and for the second consecutive game. He has at least five tackles in five of seven contests on the campaign.

Bengals' Demetrius Knight: Four stops in victory
Knight recorded four tackles (two solo) in Thursday's 33-31 win over the Steelers.
Knight briefly left the game due to cramps, but he was still on the field for 48 of 57 defensive snaps. He and Barrett Carter are leading a young linebacker corps in Cincinnati, though this did mark Knight's lowest tackle total of the season. He should bounce back in Week 8 against the Jets.
