For the first time since its 2008 founding, The Daily Beast is on track to close its fiscal year in the black.
The publisher has been profitable through the first nine months of 2025 and expects its first full year of profitability, according to president and COO Keith Bonnici. Next year, The Beast anticipates a low seven-figure profit, Bonnici added.
The milestone caps a tumultuous period for the news and culture outlet, which last year endured an ownership change, layoffs, and a public fight over its leadership. It had its first profitable quarter just last fall.
Despite those headwindsâand a softer political news cycle than 2024âThe Daily Beast has grown its audience 16% year over year and boosted revenue 20%, marking the clearest sign yet of a sustained turnaround.
