The Truman Show is a masterclass example of what a satire is meant to be. Wherein it blends comedy with the quietly devastating exploration of a manufactured reality.
The Truman Show is a Comedy Sci-fi Movie Following Truman Burbank as Jim Carrey, Christof as Ed Harris, Meryl Burbank as Laura Linney, Marlon as Noah Emmerich, and Lauren as Natascha McElhone. The Basic Summary Of this film is that Truman Burbank a Secret TV Star Who thinks he's an Insurance Salesman Progressively becomes more Suspicious of his Unknown fame as More Inauspicious Things Happen, He Eventually sees enough, and tries to leave the island Failing and only distances his relationship with his "friends and family", he then Finally Escapes the Island and conquers both the ocean and the weather and Escapes his **** of the Uncountable Numbers of Positives I have for this film is the genius Set design that can be displayed throughout the film, an example would be when Truman is in the Flight Registering area and finds A hodgepodge of posters containing the dangers of flying, this example not only displays the Fictional Crews Commitment to keeping Truman on the island but Exercises the Audience's Consciousness Towards Trumans Fears and Desires. Another Equally Great Positive is the Overuse of Actors Hinting Towards the Camera or less commonly Advertising Products, which in said universe are used to fund the show and its Cast/Crew, These said Moments increase the realism of this Movie and the Worldbuilding Surrounding the Production. A couple of More Extremely High self-esteem positives are the General Acting, Plot/Story, and Other Less Impressive Positives The Color and aesthetic, and in a way the SFX and CGI. The Negatives Surrounding this movie have thankfully almost nothing to do with the Set, Writing, Story/Plot, and Acting, instead they Involve the lack of SFX and CGI Found Throughout the film, which mostly is almost nothing of a negative given the Film over priority on the Above-Mentioned Positives. One last tiny Negative is the Comedy Slice of it, which is not bad, Is Much less than a Priority in the film, and looking back on it is a strange choice given Jim Carrey's Ability to Act in Serious Rules that don't involve comedic Bits, but all around is mostly In-between both Positive and Negative. This review summarizes that this film is an Extreme Example of Above Genius's use of Set Design, Writing, and Story/Plot, but in a way falls off in terms of Special Effects and CGI. Author Note: This Movie Is one of my Top Favorite Films Ever Ranking Comfortably at my Number 2 Spot, so for that reason, this review might have undergone some form of Prejudice Overpraising the Acting, Story/Plot, Theme, and Writing. Hopefully, After That Underlying Problem, you still find this Review Informative and may help you decide if you should watch this film.
It's unusually provocative and challenging for a Hollywood movie and, surprisingly, allows the audience to piece things together without too much external direction.
An absolte outstanding performance. The cinema and class I was looking for, maybe a quite old movie, but better than 95% of nowadays culture. The conflicts and themes of this piece of TV make you think about your life, about the perspective you were observing before, a TRUE experience of freedom and will, and the best conclusion in TV.
Film with an innovative story. The plot is well developed and interesting from start to finish, creating an overall excellent and attention-grabbing story. However, it is a good film but nothing more
The Truman Show cannot overcome it's flimsy direction and schmaltzy plot. Instead of making a film with a relatable protagonist, the film chooses instead to make him more of a victim for the audience in and out of the movie to feel bad about. The film has interesting writing ideas, but all of that impressive effort is drowned out by the film's sentimental syrup.
I've always been a fan of Jim Carrey's movies since i can remember,
and the Truman show is critically acclaimed which i should like automatically right, NOPE.
i admire that the story is creative and coming from high imagination but the problem with a high imagined movie is the end,
because with your imagination you can create a perfect movie world with perfect events,
but the hardest thing to do is to close this world with an eventful plot, unfortunately the end in this movie was so bad,
that it actually pissed me off, Truman was born and raised in this fake world, so he have no idea about the actual real world,
so you'd think he's very excited and anticipated to get out but a huge character development was missing from the plot and ending the movie like this with a fake smile "good morning, good evening and goodnight"
was the worst ending to a movie i have ever seen.
the end actually left me speechless for about 9 minutes.
