- 2. INTRODUCTION ❖ In Odoo15, lots and serial numbers have similarities in their functional system but are different in their behavior. They are both managed within the Inventory, Purchases and Sales app. ❖ Lots correspond to a certain number of products you received and store altogether in one single pack. ❖ Serial numbers are identification numbers given to one product, in particular, to allow tracking the history of the item from reception to delivery and after-sales.
- 3. ❖ Goto yourInventory module > Configuration > Settings.
- 4. ❖ First, youneed to activate the tracking. To do so, go to Inventory ‣ Configuration ‣ Settings and tick Lots & Serial Numbers. Then, click on save.
- 5. ❖ After enablingthis field, you will get the Lots & Serial Numbers option under Inventory tab of product page. Select By lots and save. Click on that smart button. Clicking on it, we get this page where we can create a lot/serial number for the product.
- 6. ❖ Now let’screate new lot number for this product by clicking CREATE button.
- 7. ❖ Provide Lotnumber and product SAVE the form.
- 8. ❖ From products> Lot/Serial number select your created lot number click on that.
- 9. ❖ We willget newly created lot number for the product.
- 10. ❖ Goto purchasemodule and create new purchase order by CREATE button.
- 11. ❖ Add thevendor and product with quantity. CONFIRM your order .
- 12. ❖ RECEIVE YOURproducts, Before validating make sure the lot number is entered or not.
- 13. ❖ Enter thelot number for the products and Done quantity. CONFIRM.
- 14. ❖ Click onTraceability button for traceability report
- 15. ❖ We cansee the report with lot number for bunch of 10 unit.
- 16. ❖ From lot/serialnumber form we will get the purchase details, location, traceability and quantity purchased.
- 17. ❖ Goto Salesmodule and create a order by CREATE button.
- 18. ❖ Add yourproduct and quantity CONFIRM
- 19. ❖ We willget lot details with reserved quantity after confirmation validate the picking.
- 20. ❖ Coming backto the lot/serial form we will get sales details with updated quantity after the sale.
- 21. ❖ Coming backto the product page set tracking as By unique Serial Number > SAVE
- 22. ❖ Enter SerialNumber > SAVE.
- 23. ❖ Goto purchasemodule and create new purchase order by CREATE button.
- 24. ❖ Add thevendor and product with quantity. CONFIRM your order .
- 25. ❖ Enter theserial numbers for each quantity and Done quantity. CONFIRM.
- 26. ❖ VALIDATE thedelivery.
- 27. ❖ Goto Salesmodule and create a order by CREATE button.
- 28. ❖ Add yourproduct and quantity CONFIRM.
- 29. ❖ Add yourproduct done quantity and serial number > CONFIRM
- 30. ❖ VALIDATE thepicking
- 31. ❖ And youwill get traceability report like below.
- 32. ❖ We willget created serial numbers for the product from inventory > products > Lot/Serial Numbers.
