What is Fire Detection System?
An automatic fire alarm system is designed to detect the
unwanted presence of fire by monitoring environmental
changes associated with combustion. In general, a fire alarm
system is classified as either automatically actuated,
manually actuated, or both. Automatic fire alarm systems are
intended to notify the building occupants to evacuate in the
event of a fire or other emergency, report the event to an off-
premises location in order to summon emergency services,
and to prepare the structure and associated systems to
control the spread of fire and smoke.

Connection for detector to LSN 300 module
LSN 0300A
•Supports max. loop current of up to 300mA
•Up to 254 LSN improved elements and 127 LSN standard elements
•Max. loop length of 1.6 Km.
•2 status LED s (yellow = fault, red = fire)
•1 loop test button (checks for any discontinuity in LSN loop)
•Current consumption 39mA at 24V dc.
•Two Auxiliary power outputs each of 500mA at 28V (Auxiliary power outputs can be used to power LSN loop
elements which require external power supply eg. FLM-420 CON-D/S Module)
Connection for detector to LSN 300 module
Connection for smoke detector base
Optical & Thermal detector operations
Working principle:-
Optical: light scattering principle: If the wavelength of light is less than the particle size, light gets scattered by that
particle. All optical detectors will have an LED and a photodiode. When the smoke particles enter the smoke chamber,
the light from LED gets scattered by the smoke particles and falls on photodiode generating a current .All Bosch LSN
improved detectors has an intelligent signal processor to process the electrical signal and compare it with about
5000 stored values, to decide whether to give alarm or not.
Thermal: A Thermistor in a resistance network is used as a thermal sensor, from which an analog-digital converter
measures the temperature-dependent voltage at regular intervals.
Depending on the specified detector class, the temperature sensor triggers the alarm status when the maximum
temperature of 54 °C or 69 °C is exceeded (thermal maximum), or if the temperature rises by a defined amount within a
specified time (thermal differential).

Manual call point Installation & operation
Manual call point (MCP) operation
The FMC-210-DM Manual Call Points are used for manual
triggering, and are deployed in the Local Security Network
LSN and LSN improved. Form H Manual Call Points are
designed for outdoor deployment, form G Manual Call
Points are designed for indoor deployment.
1)In the event of an alarm, the glass pane
2) is broken first, then the manual call point
3) is pressed hard. This activates the micro switch for alarm triggering and the
indicator LED
4) blinks. A mechanism holds the pressed call point down.
The manual call point can be reset with the reset lever
5)By closing the door of the manual call point (1). The
indicator LED (4) goes out.
*Identification with display of the call point address on the fire panel ensures the quick location of
the triggered call point.
