Colin Egan, Ph.D.

Flatiron Research Fellow, Initiative for Computational Catalysis, Flatiron Institute

Colin Egan joined the Initiative for Computational Catalysis (ICC) as a Flatiron Research Fellow in July 2025. He is interested in collective effects in interfacial systems, particularly the relationship between preroughening of solid surfaces and heterogeneous catalysis. He obtained his Ph.D. in chemistry from UC San Diego in 2021. From 2021 to 2024, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy studying collective effects at soapy interfaces.
