ICGEB promotes a culture of effective scientific communication and outreach through science for citizens, science education in schools, and participation in Science Festivals. Scientists, staff and students volunteer to run Foldscope workshops, to host the hundreds of students who visit the laboratories during the year and to collaborate on outreach projects with other national and international institutes to increase the impact of science communication initiatives.

The ICGEB welcomes everyone to visit its laboratories through guided tours led by students and researchers. Tours begin with a brief introduction to the Centre, followed by visits to the laboratories with practical demonstrations.
