Top of head to shoulders
Medium Shot (MS)
Top of head to waist
Wide Shot (WS)
Top of head to feet
Long Shot (LS)
Anything wider than a wide shot
Extreme Close Up (ECU)
Anything closer than a Close Up (CU)
Headroom
It’s important to leave space above the top of
the head and the top of the frame. It should be
just a small amount – too much headroom looks
Noseroom
In profile shot, it’s important to leave space
between the nose and the side of the frame. It
should be a significant amount - too little
The Rule of Thirds
Create a 3x3 grid on your shot, and align
the main subject along the intersection of
the lines.
Camera Movements
   Pan - Horizontal camera movement

   Tilt - Vertical camera movement

   Zoom - Electronic camera movement

   Dolly - Physical camera movement using
    a dolly.
