I see a lot of this in beginner skiers when they are nervous about the snow conditions.

They intentionally turn their body across the hill, which might feel safer but, it actually means that we have to do a giant move with our entire body to turn the other way across the hill.

And then when the choppy snow grabs you, or causes you to slide more than expected, you get thrown around!

A great fix is to instead learn to point your torso down the fall line.
