Welcome to part 03 of healthy Indian breakfast series
 • Today we have Sambar!!!

You can have it with Rice, dosa, idli or just as a soup!!

*Ingredients*

Arhar daal- 250 gram, soak in water for 30 minutes
 • One cup green beans
 • One cup eggplant
 • One cup pumpkin 
 • You can add any veggie you have ^.^
 • 1 medium sized onion
 • 3-4 large tomatoes, finely chopped

2-3 garlic cloves, minced

*Homemade sambar masala*
 • In a pan, dry roast the below:
 • One cup coriander seeds
 • 2tbsp tur daal, chana daal, urdh daal
 • 1tbsp cumin seeds
 • 1tsp mustard seeds
 • 1/4tsp fenugreek seeds
 • Handful of curry leaves
 • 1tsp black peppercorns 
 • 15-20 dry red chillies 
 • Add 1 tsp of turmeric and 1/4 tsp asafoetida for umami flavour
