Matthew Klammer has over a decade of experience fact-checking and performing research for investment and institutional topics. In his current role as a Research Analyst at Investopedia, he collects, analyzes, and verifies data within the investing and trading space. 

Matthew got his start with Investopedia first as a factchecker and then as a compliance associate. During his work with the compliance team, Matthew integrated new tools to aid in monitoring and updating articles, to improve data efficiency and accuracy. Now working on the research team, he strives to ensure readers have a reliable and accurate source of information for their own research needs. 

With a classical education in history, Matthew learned how to read between the lines and find information buried and often forgotten. His work as an IT professional during his college years helped him keep abreast of the latest changes, while a lifetime passion for investing has given him a unique set of skills.

As an IT professional, Matthew helped small companies figure out how to be more efficient in the modern era. He had to not only be good at analyzing what was needed, but be able to persuasively articulate why.

Matthew maintained objectivity as a fact-checker for Appen Inc. He actively sought to ensure that he was limiting the impact his implicit bias had on his actions. Now working for Investopedia, he brings an attention to detail and a strong commitment to objectivity.
