UN Office for Partnerships works to grow and deepen relationships with partners, both inside and outside the UN, who are unified by their interest in and ability to drive progress on the SDGs. In our activities, the UN Office for Partnerships looks for an intergenerational approach to leadership outreach. We incubate and support transformative programmes that build momentum for the SDGs.

UNFIP

The UN Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP) is a trust fund that serves as the primary liaison between the United Nations and the UN Foundation—an independent organization supporting UN efforts on global challenges. For over two decades, UNFIP and the Foundation have collaborated on hundreds of cross-sector initiatives aligned with the SDGs. UNFIP’s work is guided by an Advisory Board, chaired by the Deputy Secretary-General, which provides strategic advice to the Secretary-General on the UN’s relationship with the UN Foundation and monitors related activities.

UNDEF

The UN Democracy Fund (UNDEF) supports efforts around the world to increase civic space, empower civil society, promote human rights, and encourage the participation of all groups in democratic processes. UN Partnerships works with Member States through the UNDEF on youth engagement, women’s leadership, strengthening civil society, the rule of law and human rights, media, and freedom of information.
