The Chiefs announced wide receiver Xavier Worthy is now questionable for Monday night's game due to a shoulder and ankle injury.
That is from Adam Schefter on Sunday as you were getting ready for your Sunday football, we suddenly found out your Monday football might be wildly impacted.
And we have an interesting game tonight.
The Chiefs at the Jags.
Let me remind you that the Chiefs are 2-2.
The Jags are 3-1.
This game is in Jacksonville and the Chiefs are a 3.5 point favorite over on at 46.5.
I'm a little surprised, Caroline, because we saw what a difference Xavier Worthy made being back on the field.
And part of the reason you and I have been pretty consistent is we're not gonna leave the Chiefs for dead because health and suspension will fix their wide receiver room.
So it'll be just fine.
This is a significant loss for them if he can't go in this game though.
I don't think the Chiefs can beat the Jags with less than the best of their offense in this game.
If there's no Xavier Worthy, I think the Jags are gonna win this football game.
I think the people that are rolling their eyes at what you just said are people who haven't really been paying close enough attention to these two teams.
Xavier Worthy, when he came back from injury, what was that last week, took the top off the defense.
That was a completely different Chiefs team.
That was a Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs offense that we all know and love.
That was vintage Chiefs, vintage Patrick Mahomes.
But when the Chiefs didn't have Xavier Worthy early in the season, they were lifeless, they were flat offensively.
It was the Tyquan Thornton show, and yes, credit to Tyquan Thornton for stepping up, but you know, what else do the Chiefs really have outside of him?
Travis Kelce looks like he's 35 years old.
You can't rely on him for the better part of 60 minutes.
This Chiefs offense has fallen flat without dynamic playmakers.
And you look at a Jags defense that has feasted, and when they lead the league in turnovers, the Jags' defense is really good.
And no, I don't think that pound for pound on paper, the Jags are a better team than the Kansas City Chiefs.
But the Kansas City Chiefs have not been performing to the level that we know them.
And the Jags' defense, I think, has absolutely outperformed expectations.
Defensively, they look great, which were defensive upgrades, fits that, frankly, I was not expecting.
I was expecting, you know, you bring in Liam Cohen and often minded head coach, that maybe we could start to see more explosiveness from this Jags offense.
And yes, we have, they're great in the run game.
Trevor Lawrence, you know, is who he is, but this Jags team is starting to piece together ways that that that you can win in the NFL, ways that travel on the road, defense travels, run game travels.
I don't think it's crazy to think that the Jags get a win tonight if we see the same version of the Chiefs' offense that we saw in the first two or three weeks of the season.
