Legitimate criticisms of Kelly that have been raised the last two seasons by the media were vociferously rebuked by our friends down on the bayou, even going through this offseason where people were pointing out, hey, you know, they really got to do this.
We haven't seen this yet.
This could be a problem, this could be a problem.
Now, when they did lose to Ole Miss, as the luster of that Clemson week one win was fading, Andy, then you saw the flip, and now, like yesterday, I'm watching them scream with neck veins bulging.
They, they finally came around on Kelly, they've come around and it's kind of been like a tidal wave all at once.
Well, they, they were, they, they were holding Kelly at arm's length, and they're like, oh, we did this stuff in the transfer portal, maybe this is going to be OK.
But the second it looked like one side of the ball wasn't working, which seems to be the problem with all, all Brian Kelly's LSU teams.
Then they just, they turned.
And so they are mathematically still alive for the college football playoffs, but they played Texas A&M this week.
They have an open date and then they play Alabama.
They have to win both of those games if they'd like to stay mathematically alive, and I think the feeling is that's not going to happen.
It looks like they're wasting another NFL quarterback's prime season again under Brian Kelly.
There are buyouts.
That seem impossible, but after James Franklin last week, nothing seems impossible.
Things have changed dramatically.
They have changed, I would say, alarmingly, and people inside the agents and coaching community are like there is no buyout that's too big right now, because of the uncertainty ahead of this sport.
It right now, we flipped our calculus all the way around.
Last year was about saving money and hoarding pennies because we don't know what's going to happen.
This year, all of a sudden is about spending money as much as we can.
We'll figure it out later because we cannot afford to look complacent.
And so no one is safe, not in Baton Rouge and not in Tallahassee.
