JD Vance rips Jen Psaki’s ‘disgraceful’ jab that his wife is afraid of him
Vice President JD Vance ripped Jen Psaki’s “disgraceful” comments about his wife after the MSNBC host said second lady Usha Vance needed to be rescued from him.
A journalist on Thursday asked Vance for his thoughts on Psaki’s comments while the vice president waited on the tarmac in Tel Aviv, Israel, preparing to head back to the US.
After making a face, Vance said: “Oh, I think it’s disgraceful, but of course the second lady can speak for herself.”
“I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife and I know – at least I hope – that my wife feels the same about me,” he continued.
“We’re going to keep on serving the country together and I’m honored to have Usha by my side on this trip in particular, but always.”
Psaki – now an MSNBC host after serving as former President Joe Biden’s press secretary – tore into the couple during an appearance Tuesday on the “I’ve Had It” podcast with Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan.
“I think the little Manchurian candidate, JD Vance, wants to be president more than anything else,” Psaki said.
“I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you.”
Psaki argued that Vance is “scarier” than President Trump in some ways because he’s “willing to do anything” to get to the Oval Office.
“He’s young and ambitious and agile in the sense that he’s a chameleon who makes himself whatever he thinks the audience wants to hear from him,” Psaki continued.
Social media users blasted Psaki following her podcast appearance, calling her comments “disgusting” and “vile” for mocking the Vances’ marriage.
