Looking for assistance with getting your firearms ready for deer season? Come to Jay Henges Shooting Range for sight-in assistance. We will have staff on site to help bore sight your scope or assist with dialing in your sights to your desired distance.

NOTE: WE WILL NOT BE PROVIDING FIREARMS OR AMMUNITION. Please bring along the firearm and ammunition you plan to deer hunt with.

This program and hunt is for youth age 11-15, who are interested in learning the skills to have a successful duck hunt.This includes safety, equipment, blinds, techniques, and more. This will be a duck hunt on the Busch CA. All participants for the hunt must be Hunter Education Certified. All equipment will be provided unless you have your own.

What is all the hype about tallow? Come and watch the process of making deer tallow. Deer fat contains healthy fats that can be used for cooking, skin care products, soaps, candles and starting fires. It's also a sustainable choice, honoring the animal by utilizing the fat that would otherwise be discarded. Beef tallow can be made using the same process.

A tallow making class will be offered on 11/20/2025. Pre-registration for the class is required.

Join us to learn the basics of safely loading and shooting a modern in-line muzzle loading rifle. We will discuss all aspects of loading, shooting, and cleaning. If you plan to use your own, bring a minimum of 50 rounds of new ammunition for your firearm. Make sure all firearms are unloaded before arriving at the range. There should be no live ammunition, or uncased firearms inside the classroom. Please leave all firearms in the vehicle until the class is dismissed including all concealed carry handguns and magazines.

This course is hosted by Pioneer Gun Club. The Location will be at the McBride (outdoor) Range within the Shotgun Club House.

For this skill session, NO FIREARMS or Live AMMO is Allowed. Please Leave them secured in your vehicle or at home.

Students must be 11 years old by the day of the class. Enroll the student and not the parent for the session. Students need to complete the knowledge session of the course, prior to attending this skills session, by doing the on-line portion or filling out the student manual chapter review questions. Explore how to safely handle and shoot a pellet rifle. This is a hands-on program with one-on-one instruction. All equipment, including safety equipment, will be provided. We will meet at the Runge outdoor pavilion before heading to the Runge outdoor range. Dress for the weather in closed-toe shoes. Participants should be prepared to stand or bring a camp chair. Registration required. Ages 7-12

Get ready for deer season! Step up to the Laser Shot range and practice safe shot placement and making ethical choices while learning tips on scouting and deer behavior.

Learn the steps necessary to process wild game yourself. We will discuss field dressing a deer and demonstrate how to skin and process a game animal in easy steps with minimum equipment. You will learn tips on how to handle and package the meat, ensuring that when you pull it out of the freezer, it is fresh and tasty.

Atlatls are a unique and primitive hunting tool that is still used today. They are important for preserving the past culture of all people and show us a way to connect with our ancestors 15,000 years ago.
