Six health professions under one roof
The School of Health Sciences is one of the largest educational centres for health professionals in Switzerland. On our campus in the heart of Winterthur we offer degree programmes, continuing education programmes, as well as research and development opportunities in the following disciplines: nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, public health, and biomedical laboratory diagnostics.
Bachelor of Science Programmes (BSc)
Our internationally recognised Bachelor’s programmes are an ideal foundation for a professional career in the health care system or for advanced academic studies. The School of Health Sciences offers the following programmes:
Master of Science Programmes (MSc)
Our consecutive Master’s programmes are designed to provide graduates with in-depth professional knowledge. They enhance students’ practical skills while establishing a direct link to clinical practice.
Continuing Education
Our health care system is subject to rapid change, which is why we encourage lifelong learning. To this end, we offer a wide range of continuing education courses at various levels to provide health professionals with state-of-the-art specialised knowledge and a valuable professional network.
Research and Development
Interdisciplinarity and practical relevance are of primary importance in our scientific work. The following five research units can be found under one roof: Public Health, Midwifery Sciences, Nursing Science, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy Science.
Services
We offer profession-specific services in education, consulting, and development for private and public health institutions in Switzerland and abroad.
In 2021, the Thetriz therapy, training, and counselling centre was set up on the campus of the ZHAW School of Health Sciences. At Thetriz, experts and students treat and advise real clients. They are supervised by specialists in occupational and physical therapy, health promotion and prevention, and midwifery.
