Niels Bohr was a Danish physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922 for his work on atomic structure and quantum mechanics and was a member of the Manhattan Project.[1]

Niels Henrik David Bohr was born on October 7, 1885 in Garnisons Sogn, Copenhagen, Danmark, son of Christian Harald Lauritz Peter Emil Bohr (1855–1911) and Ellen Adler (1860–1930).[2]

Niels (26) married Margrethe Nørlund (22) (born on March 7, 1890; daughter of Alfred Kristian Nørlund and Emma Ottine Sophie Holm) on August 1, 1912 in Slagelse, Sorø, Denmark. Their children were:

Niels died on November 18, 1962 in Valby Sogn, Copenhagen, aged 77.
