  In the lightof the moon a little egg lay on a leaf.

  One Sunday morningthe warm sun came up and pop! Out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

  He started tolook for some food. I’m hungry!
• 5.
  On Monday heate through one apple. But he was still hungry. I’m still hungry!
• 6.
  On Tuesday heate through two pears, but he was still hungry. I’m still hungry!
• 7.
  On Wednesday heate through three plums, but he was still hungry. I’m still hungry!
• 8.
  On Thursday heate through four strawberries, but he was still hungry. I’m still hungry!
• 9.
  On Friday heate through five oranges, but he was still hungry. I’m still hungry!
• 10.
  On Saturday heate through….. That night he had stomach-ache! I’m ill!
• 11.
  The next daywas Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better.
• 12.
  Now he wasn’thungry anymore- and he wasn’t a little caterpillar any more. He was a big, fat caterpillar.
• 13.
  He built asmall house, called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks. Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out ………

  He was abeautiful butterfly!
