This document discusses the slab building technique for pottery. Slab building starts with rolling out smooth clay slabs that are then shaped, cut, and attached together. To construct items using this technique, clay is rolled into flat pancake-like slabs using a roller, pin, or by hand. The slabs are scored, slipped with water, and have coils of clay added to the edges for reinforcement before being smoothed together. Once constructed, the pieces are baked and can be glazed.
