Claude Monet was a famous French painter and the greatest artist of the Impressionist movement. He was born in 1840 in Paris and helped develop a new style of painting called Impressionism that focused on capturing light, shadows, and outdoor scenes using loose brushstrokes and bright colors. Monet helped inspire the Impressionist art movement through his paintings done outdoors and works depicting scenes from his window at the Louvre museum in Paris.
