• supports palette-based (palettes of 24-bit RGB

• an audio data compression technology developed
  by Microsoft;

• a Microsoft and IBM audio file format standard for
  storing an audio bitstream on PCs;

MIDI
• Musical Instrument Digital Interface

• an industry-standard protocol that enables electronic
  musical instruments (synthesizers, drum machines),
  computers and other electronic equipment (MIDI
  controllers, sound cards, samplers) to communicate
  and synchronize with each other.
CDA
• CD(Compact Disc) Audio Track
• Filename Extension:
                    .cda
• a small (44 bytes) file generated by Microsoft
  Windows for each track on an audio CD;
• The file contains indexing information that
  programs can use to play or rip the disc.

    it is a multimedia container format which
    divides the file’s data into blocks or
    “chunks” like the DVD video format.
MP4
•   MPEG-4 Part 14
•   Filename Extension:
                   .mp4
    most commonly used to store digital video
    and digital audio streams, especially
    those defined by MPEG, but can also be
    used   to  store   other  data   such  as
    subtitles and still images.
FLV
•   Flash Video

    a container file format     used to
    deliver video over the      Internet
    using Adobe Flash Player.
MOV
•   filename    extension    for     the
    Quicktime Multimedia File Format
•   Filename Extension:
                   .mov
    QuickTime   File  Format   (QTFF)  is   a
    computer file format used natively by the
    QuickTime application.
SWF
•   Shockwave Flash
•   Filename Extension:
                   .swf
    a   Flash    movie    developed   by
    Macromedia.
ASF
•   Advanced Systems Format
•   Advanced Streaming Format
•   Filename Extension:
                   .asf
    It is intended for streaming and is used to
    support playback from digital media and HTTP
    servers, and to support storage devices such as
    hard disks.
