Example photo portfolio 2016
Brooke Nelson's digital photography portfolio from semester 2 of 2016 at Aragon High School included projects on shadow tryptichs, alphabets, pop art, mirrored images, tessellation, cyanotypes using the cyanotype process, opposites, and recreating a photo for the final project. Nelson enjoys photographing small details and imperfections in objects and finds unrefined areas interesting. This semester, Nelson particularly enjoyed creating mirrored reflections and tessellations using one photo and exploring the surprising cyanotype developing process, and is looking forward to furthering skills in film negatives, camera use, and Photoshop.

- 12. I enjoy takingphotographs of the small details in objects, people, or places that some may overlook because of the imperfections. I tend to gravitate towards objects that others might consider “ugly” but it’s the harshness of the items that I find interesting. From jagged edges of buildings to cracks creeping up a rugged wall, the unrefined grab my attention. This semester, I particularly enjoyed learning how to create a mirrored reflection and tessellation using 1 photograph. The hands-on cyanotype process was challenging for me because there was an element of surprise when developing the print. I am looking forward to exploring more film negative production and furthering my technical skills with both the camera and Photoshop. Artist Statement
