Open a new file
Click on sheet1 and rename sheet1with
‘ColumnChart’
Type the sample data below
1. Highlight cells A1 to D5
2. On the standard toolbar, click
the chart wizard
3. Click on Column to select the type
of chart you want to create
4. In the chart sub-type box, choose
the Clustered Column icon to select
the chart subtype

When you select a chart, handles appear on the right
and left sides, the top and bottom, and the corners of
the chart..
You can drag the handles on the
Top and bottom of the chart to increase or decrease
the height of the chart
Left and right sides of the chart to increase or
decrease the width of the chart
Corners of the chart to increase or decrease the size
of the chart proportionally
You can change the position of a chart by clicking
on the chart and dragging
a) Use the handles to adjust the size of your chart
b) Click on the chart and drag to position the chart under the data
Modify Chart
To change the chart scale
a) Double click on the scale
b) The Format Axis dialog box opens
c) Choose the Scale Tab
d) Type 20 in the Major Unit field and 100 in the
Maximum field
e) Click OK. Your chart now scaled in units of 20
To change chart type and subtype
a) Right click on the chart
b) Choose Chart Type
c) You can change the type and subtype of your chart
To change the pattern column
a) Right click on the column that you want to change
the pattern
b) Choose Format Data Series
c) You can change the pattern column
a) Right click on label
b) Choose the Format legend
c) You can change the pattern, font and the
placement of the label
To format the label/legend
