  Definition of sketchingis a simply or speedily executed drawing, especially a basic one and giving the essential features without the details. Sketching is an advantage to Architecture students and Quantity Surveyor students as well. Even though sketching is not the part of it but yet related. However, sketching is one of the medium for communication to one and another. Besides that, the imaginative quantity of sketching can make adjustment. Most are not specially organized or accurate, they can be messy! In the other hand, we need others to figure out what we are talking about and having the same opinion. So, sketching is a typical way for us to express the concept to others. And my process essay is about kitchen utensil, what kitchen utensil I have chosen and why did I selected this utensil. First, the kitchen utensil that I have chosen can be called can opener or we can called it as tin opener as well. I have selected can opener as my kitchen utensil for English process essay. At the same time, when I first step into my kitchen, I noticed a can opener on the dining table and for the first time I saw this utensil, it is very special due to its shape and the entire tool is made up of metal. So, this is the reason why I chose the can opener as my kitchen utensil. Next, when I feel this utensil it felt a little bit of coolness and it is comfortable to handle. In addition, I use it to open a tin and sound produced when two metal friction in contact and as a result, it will produce a slightly higher temperature. This utensil used in our everyday life and allows us to open tins and cans easily with less effort. This equipment have a lot of function in just one utensil, in fact I would like to know more about how does this kitchen utensil works. Secondly, the shading process, which is also part of the sketch. It represents the different values of colour in light or dark. During sketching, I used different type of pencil and stationery to sketch and to shade such HB, 2B, 0.5mm HB sharp pencil, sharpener and eraser. However, HB pencil is a hardness pencil because it allows us to draw and sketch perfectly and also a good type of pencil for shading. Beside this, a sharp pencil is also known as a drawing tools in technical drawing and architecture. In addition, I use other tools to achieve the balance as well such as tissue paper and my finger to make the contrast of shadow. Yes, I need to clear my workspace to begin my sketching with peace of mind, I sketched my drawing at the library and it is a nice environment to think and sketch. Therefore, when I sketched my kitchen utensil and there are a lot of complex styles of drawing and shading due to this utensil have a lot of tiny details. Sketching does not have to be perfect. Sketching in the first time and it does make a lot of mistakes. No worries! If mistakes made then use an eraser rub it off and draw it over and over again. Sketching is the fun way and also the easiest way to express a thing. Finally, this process of sketching took me about two hours to finished because I have to find the best lightning to sketch, shade and draw my kitchen utensil. And I do re-draw it again for a better looking. When I reached the finalization, I felt very happy and satisfied. The important thing is that I have learned more about this kitchen utensil and other different kind of utensil about what are these utensil used for and how are they being used. I would do this again because this assignment gave me a lot of chances to understand all about varieties of kitchen utensil and it also help me to improve my drawings.
