Welcome to Joy to the Food!

Welcome to our kitchen, where we strive to eat high protein from natural sources so we can do more cool stuff!

Our recipes are designed to invoke joy and fuel you through whatever life brings. Whether that's parenthood, climbing Mount Everest, or walking the dogs, our recipes provide energy for a fun life!

food that fuels & sparks joy

We're heavily focused on protein. You'll find our recipes are full of pure protein from whole foods! While we do use protein powders on occasion, we mainly use high-protein ingredients from real foods. Think chicken, fish, cottage cheese, bone broth, nuts, lentils, hemp seeds, etc.

We expect our food to power us through parenthood and life's adventures. If you want the same thing then come join us! And if you're not sure where to start, head over to our post on How To Get More Protein, which is basically a protein 101 course.

It's no secret that the kitchen can be stressful. It also can create some of the most fond memories! From making the same sweet potato casserole every Thanksgiving to your grandpa lighting the oven mitt on fire in the oven (true story), the kitchen is a place that fills up the senses and the memory bank. For this reason, we have helpful tips and tons of resources to support each recipe.

So, grab some ingredients, browse the site, and find something that sparks joy for you. We hope you'll find a recipe (or a few) you love!

help us, help others

As parents, child hunger is something we can hardly fathom. It hurts our hearts just to think about it and we don't want any child to face this. So while we can't fix the problem, at Joy to the Food, we donate a portion of profits to Feeding America to do our small part.

We also work with our local kids' BackPack Program, Fresh Harvest, to distribute food and provide recipe resources to families in our community on a weekly basis.

As you probably know, we make our income from ads on our site when users browse the site. So, by browsing our site, you are helping us provide more meals to families in need around the world and in our little Midwest community.
