It helps to promote even baking and keeps desserts from sticking to the pan. Sometimes precut parchment sheets are the way to go but here’s a way to save some money and make your own! 

How to: line a round baking pan
 • Tear or cut off a sheet of parchment just slightly bigger than the cake pan.
 • Fold the parchment in half and then in half again so that it more closely resembles a square.
 • Fold the square into a triangle by folding up from left to right. Fold the triangle in half again for a smaller triangle or leave it as shown in this video.
