Adam Henrique 1000th game

It was all smiles and no buckets for Adam Henrique during warmups on Tuesday.

Before the Edmonton Oilers game against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre, the Oilers celebrated Henrique’s 1,000th NHL game by wearing his No. 19 on their jerseys for warmups.

Henrique had on his normal sweater, of course, but dropped his helmet during the warmup lap.

The 35-year-old was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in 2008 and played eight seasons there before he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks in 2017.

In 2024, he was traded to the Oilers where he signed a two-year contract last summer.

Henrique had a personal fanbase at the game, with everyone in the group wearing Oilers, Ducks and Devils gear while holding signs in support.

Henrique’s Oilers teammates surprised him with custom T-shirts styled like a NASCAR jacket in homage of Henrique’s fandom of racing.

The T-shirts read “RICO” in front.

“It's been a fun morning,” Henrique told the Oilers. “I kind of forgot about the shirts, and that's kind of a bit of a tradition. So that was fun at breakfast, seeing that this morning, and [Assistant Equipment Manager Brad Harrison] up to his old tricks with some videos and all that sort of stuff… I saw Savvy wearing out the Red Bull logo on the back, and I was like, ‘Ah, he must be a race fan too, I guess.’ And then I saw the rest of the shirt.”
