Kelby Vera is a senior reporter on HuffPost’s trends team, where they track the overlap between entertainment, internet culture, and politics collide, from celebrities getting political to memes going mainstream, or the weird ways the digital world influences (or warps) our lives. Based in Los Angeles, their work also amplifies stories from Indigenous artists, filmmakers and creators. Kelby’s writing has appeared in outlets like Vice, Paper, Ms. Magazine, Hollywood Life, The Argonaut, and DailyMail.com. Her favorite interview happened over brunch with Martha Stewart, the weirdest ended with a Real Housewife serenading her with Kenny Rodgers’ “The Gambler.” She holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from UC Berkeley and a master’s in art journalism from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
