Amazon is offering $11 off this excellent Roku streamer, which is a 28% discount. While it's not the best deal we've seen, it's still a solid one. We like the Roku operating system because it has the most streaming app options, the simplest interface of any streaming platform and the best search. It's also content-agnostic -- it doesn't push any streaming service provider, such as Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV, over another.
The Express 4K Plus is one of the cheapest streaming TV options with 4K HDR. (Even if your current TV doesn't support this format, your next one probably will.) Thanks to an AirPlay update, this Roku device is also one of the least expensive ways to connect your iPhone or other Apple device to your TV.
With a $49 list price, the Roku Streaming Stick 4K is almost $10 more than the Express 4K Plus. Along with a stick-like design, Dolby Vision HDR is the main difference between the devices -- and it's why the Streaming Stick 4K lists for more than its sibling. Right now, you can snag it for $38 at Walmart.
The Roku Express is compact, streams only in HD and comes with an HDMI cable. It lacks a power brick to plug it in, so you'll either have to provide your own or plug the Express into the USB port in your TV. It also doesn't come with a smart remote, so you won't be able to control your TV's power, volume and inputs with this remote. You'll need your original TV remote and a smart speaker or other receiver if you want to use voice controls. It's a big hassle, so it might make more sense to spend the extra bucks for the Roku Streaming Stick 4K.
The budget-friendly Streambar SE is a hybrid soundbar that also doubles as a 4K streaming device. It lists for much less than the Roku Streambar and it's about 4 inches smaller than the full-sized counterpart. It also lacks support for Dolby Atmos audio. But for those with limited space or a tight budget, it's an excellent option -- especially at $27 off.
