    Champions League

    It's almost time to go.

What a great week for English sides in the Champions League - 19-2 on aggregate.

Tonight, Liverpool returned to winning ways in emphatic style, Chelsea hammered Ajax and Spurs were held by Monaco.

We'll leave you with the highlights from all six Premier League clubs in action over the last couple of nights.

  3. 'We had to battle and suffer'published at 22:58 BST 22 October

    FT: Monaco 0-0 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was not the best performance from us. There is a lot to learn from this game because the level in the Champions League is very high. If you miss some basics it is tough to compete.

"Everyone who plays at the back is a Champions League player. It is not about changes tonight, it is about the effort, the mentality and the awareness of danger we need to have in some situations. I think tonight we lacked a little bit of that.

"It is a point we have to take. It is a tough point because we had to battle and suffer a lot so credit to Monaco. Today they were better than us."

  4. 'We trust the younger players'published at 22:56 BST 22 October

    Chelsea 5-1 Ajax

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, speaking to TNT Sports: "The red card changed the game. We know how difficult it is when we get a red card.

"We started well. With 10 changes... it's a very demanding season so we need to rotate because it's complicated for the ones who play all the games.

"We know when you concede a red card with 10 minutes to go it's OK but when it's more than an hour to play it's difficult for everyone.

"We trust a lot the younger players. The strategy of the club. Not only the ones we buy but the ones from the academy."

On Estevao: "Exciting to see him. The odd thing about Estevao is with young players you're worried they have one good game and think they're top. Estevao is polite, he's humble, he wants to learn. His family make a big job there. We're happy not only way with way he performs but he's a nice boy, a good boy.

"I think in the Premier League he needs a little more time. It's very smilar to Cole Palmer. I had him same age with City's under-23s. Cole played wide and now he's inside. Now Estevao plays wide but in the future I think he's more of an inside player.

"We could have scored more goals - but we tried to manage the game. On Saturday we have Sunderland here. They're physically strong. We're happy. Every game is different."

  5. Vicario 'was unbelievable'published at 22:54 BST 22 October

    FT: Monaco 0-0 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham defender Archie Gray, speaking to TNT Sports: "It was a difficult game. We weren't at our best. They were on top for most of the game and Guglielmo Vicario kept us in it.

"We always stick together but Vic was unbelievable keeping us in the game. We will learn from these tough moments. I believe this team can do anything. We all believe in each other."

Years of under investment in top quality players is becoming obvious at Spurs now. Despite all the excitement regarding Thomas Frank and Levy’s departure, it’s a case of the same old, same old.

What a night for Reggie Walsh, who became Chelsea’s youngest ever Champions League player (17 years, 2 days) and the second youngest Englishman of all time, behind Jack Wilshere in November 2008 for Arsenal (16 years, 329 days).

Walsh, who came on as a second half substitute against Ajax, was born the month before Wilshere made his debut.

What a lovely moment for Tyrique George.

He thought he was getting real chances at Chelsea and they went and bought two strikers. He thinks that's him finished, and will be sent out [on loan].

He comes on, scores a goal and looked really good in that position. Among the others, he looked really good and I am delighted for him.

  9. 'We could have scored more'published at 22:47 BST 22 October

    FT: Chelsea 5-1 Ajax

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca told Uefa: "Very happy about the game. We started quite well. The red card changed the game. We played a good game. We scored five goals and could have scored more.

"To play with 10 players is difficult. We know that well this season. It's very good [to see fringe youngsters impress]. When you give them the chance and they take the chance it's important.

"We like to go game by game. In 48 hours we have another very demanding game against Sunderland."

  11. Isak 'felt his groin a little bit'published at 22:42 BST 22 October

    FT: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-5 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot, speaking to TNT Sports about Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak starting together: "Hugo had a big chance and scored. Alex got a few, unfortunately he didn't score yet, but he had to go off at half time because he felt his groin a little bit.

"That's a pity. I've said many times, it's such a difficult balance to find with a player that missed three months. You bring him slowly, people sometimes argue with you, why you cannot play him longer or more often.

"Now we've played him for the second time in three days and he has had to go off. It's not an easy balance to find if a player has been out for so long."

  13. 'It was a hard point won'published at 22:39 BST 22 October

    FT: Monaco 0-0 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, speaking to TNT Sports: "I think there is big credit to Monaco today. It was a hard point won. It was a relatively even first half. Second half our performance was not good and Monaco were better than us. It demanded a lot to keep the clean sheet.

"I think Vicario was very good. But it was not the performance we wanted, especially the second half."

People will sneer at [drawing to Monaco] but they are a tough nut to crack.

They are still yet to be beaten at home this season. I have been to their stadium before and it is a weird atmosphere - or lack of atmosphere.

If you can draw your away games and win your home games, you'll be fine.
