Reconnect the Apple TV remote
Your remote comes automatically paired with your Apple TV. If it disconnects or you get a replacement remote, you’ll need to manually pair it to Apple TV.
If your remote isn’t responding, you can reset it, then pair it again.
Reset the remote
- Press and hold  and and on your remote for at least 5 seconds. on your remote for at least 5 seconds.- Resetting a remote unpairs it from Apple TV. Follow the instructions below to pair it again. 
Pair a remote with Apple TV
- Turn on Apple TV. 
- Position the remote so it’s within 8 to 10 cm (3 to 4 inches) of and pointing at the front of your Apple TV. 
- Press and hold  and and or or on your remote for 2 seconds. on your remote for 2 seconds.- When the remote is successfully paired, an onscreen message appears. 
Note: An Apple TV can have only one Apple TV remote paired with it at a time. When you pair a remote, any other paired remote is automatically unpaired.
