Why Cam Ward deserves credit for his harsh comments about Titans

Yahoo Sports’ Jason Fitz and Caroline Fenton discuss Cam Ward’s recent comments about his team. Will they look to build off of this frustration and turn the season around?

You know, Fitzy, I think that we can appreciate honesty as a trait in anybody.

And I do appreciate Cam Ward's honesty yesterday.

So we heard from Cam Ward after the Titans got destroyed 26 to nothing at the hands of the Houston Texans.

Cam Ward spoke with the media and said, quote, If we keep it a buck right now, we ass.

Ah, don't mince any words about that, Cam Ward, because you know what?

Yeah, you're right.

The Titans are ass.

They're terrible.

They are 0 and 4.

Like I said, they lost 26 to 0 to the Texans yesterday.

So far this team has been outscored 120 to 51.

They have been outgained 1,474 yards to a measly 842.

They've been outgained 5.9 yards per play to 3.6.

They are, let me pull up my notes here, 30 seconds in yards per game.

That's worst in the NFL for those at home keeping score.

302 in pass yards per game, 29th in rush yards per game.

There you go.

32nd in points per game, and 3 of their 4 losses on the season have come by at least double digits.

Cam Ward isn't just trying to make headlines or throw out, you know, a, a funny meme.

Cam Ward is telling the truth.

The Titans are absolutely terrible.

And I do have to give credit to Cam Ward that at least somebody in that building is calling it like it is.

At least somebody in that building is holding that locker room accountable because Brian Callahan said before giving up playcalling duties that he had no regrets about some of the plays that he called or the job that he has done so far this season.

Really?

You don't have a single regret when your team was 0 and 3 at that point.

Now the Titans sit at 0 and 4, and I don't think the question is how can things get better for the Titans, because I don't think it can.

That roster is not good enough.

Coaching staff is clearly not good enough, and ownership does not support a healthy environment for winning.

The question, I think, the more dire question, the more important question that is surrounding this team is how can they get out before they ruin Cam Ward.

I don't think they've ruined Cam Ward yet, but if the Titans go along the same trajectory, Cam Ward, who is the lone bright spot, the lone source of hope and optimism for this fan base.

It will get ruined by the Tennessee Titans.
