2010 – A plane crash in Smolensk, western Russia, kills 96 people. Many of them were very important in Poland, including President Lech Kaczynski. They were on their way to a memorial service to commemorate 70 years since the Katyn massacre.
2015 – A bus and truck collide in southern Morocco, killing 33 people, including schoolchildren.
2016 – The Kollam temple fire in Kerala, Southern India, kills over 100 people.
