Go to GitHub Copilot settings and verify if you have an active or expired subscription. If you see "no Copilot subscription found" or "setup incomplete," proceed with the setup or renewal as prompted. [2] Review and Update Billing Information Visit GitHub Billing Settings and check for any failed transactions, expired cards, or account locks. Update your payment method to ensure it is valid, has sufficient funds, and is accepted by GitHub. After updating, retry subscribing to Copilot |

You're seeing the error because GitHub thinks you don’t have an old subscription to bring back. |

Hi i actually tried all these steps, and i have no problem with billing, I Checked Billing & Payment Settings, Tried in Incognito/Private Mode, i don't know how to clear/reset my account's subscription metadata, especially any leftover business-tier linkage and allow my GitHub personal account to start a fresh Copilot Pro ($10/month) subscription with no errors |

Hi again, just to clarify: I don’t even see a “Disable Copilot” option under https://github.com/settings/copilot, which confirms I don’t have an active paid subscription. Please help reset my account’s subscription state completely, so I can start a new $10/month Copilot Pro plan. |

Hi, I also get "Can't find a subscription to reactivate", everything seems ok, (github free subscription, credit card, etc.). |

Ugh, The "Could not find a subscription to reactivate" error usually shows up if your account had a previous Copilot subscription (even just a trial), and something got stuck when trying to bring it back. Here are a few things you can try: -Check your GitHub billing settings to see if there’s an old Copilot subscription you can cancel or reactivate. Good luck, hope you get it sorted and snag that badge! |

In my ticket I demanded 30 days free. I suggest you all do the same as well. And anyone else that has this issue! |

Update. They blamed it on me for my first credit card getting denied. They still charged my 2nd card but locked my account anyway. Someone had to manually unlock my account and now the 2nd card was able to be used. They are sill morons! |

… Hello, unfortunately not yet. I've opened a support ticket for this.
By the way, my GitHub free subscription quota will be reset on August 8th.
I'll be able to use it again. After that, I'll also try purchasing Copilot
Pro again.
Perhaps running out of quota is the cause of this error.

Hi @super-simon 👋 This error usually appears when GitHub can't detect a previous Copilot subscription tied to your account, so it doesn't know what to "reactivate." ✅ Here's what you can try:
🔁 If it still doesn't work, contact GitHub Support here: |
