Video Editing: “Make it a Movie”
US$1,500
Over a month
OVERVIEW The best creators have a superpower… They make the ordinary feel extraordinary. That’s exactly what we want from you. We’re looking for a creator and social video editor who can turn everyday life into art, something real, human, and visually magnetic. Your challenge is simple: make your day-in-the-life a movie. Your commute. Your morning ritual. That first coffee. Your creative chaos. Whatever your day looks like, we want to see you turn the simple moments into something cinematic and full of personality, powered by your imagination, your camera, your own creative hand and your video editing skills. We’re not after perfection or filters… We want to see you: the person behind the creativity. This is about bringing emotion, humour, and storytelling to life in a way no algorithm could replicate. PROJECT SCOPE You’ll be responsible for bringing your authentic, human perspective to the project by: - Creating a storyboard that captures your day-in-the-life movie. - Develop a script or voiceover that highlights your personal storytelling voice. - Presenting your idea in 3 to 4 slides! Show us your story, your process, and your creative influences. - Collaborating weekly to share progress, ideas, and questions as we build something uniquely you! - Delivering final assets that showcase your originality using Adobe tools, with two rounds of revisions and feedback for the video editing process. - Post the final video on your social channels, following the social guidelines (below) and providing the Adobe team with the post links. TARGET AUDIENCE You’re creating for the next generation of creators, people who value authenticity over filters and creativity over algorithms. Ask yourself: What kind of content would inspire YOU to create? We want work that makes others think, “I could do that, but in my own way.” This is your chance to show how real, human-made creativity still stands out in a digital-first world. THEME & DIRECTION Keep it bright. Keep it bold. Keep it human. We’re looking for pieces that feel authentic and personal, a celebration of real creativity. Mix visual styles, play with textures, experiment with edits… Just make sure your personality shines through every frame. GUIDELINES You’ve got freedom, but keep things thoughtful and cohesive: - No profanity or inappropriate content. - The final video should feel unified and intentional. - Use vibrant, optimistic colours to match Adobe’s creative spirit. - Combine human storytelling with digital craft. Add graphics, imagery, and motion to give your content depth, but make sure your handprint stays visible. - Generative AI can support your workflow, but your creative voice must lead the way! Always credit any AI-assisted elements transparently. - Royalty-free music can only be used. - Include the following hashtags: #CommunityXAdobe #AdobeCreativeCloud #AdobeCreativeApprenticeship CONTENT SPECIFICATIONS - Vertical 9:16 format - Subtitles included - Under 60 seconds - Deliverable for Instagram Reels and TikTok (9:16) IDEAL TIMELINE - Week 1: Concept ideation and approval - Week 2: Execution, filming, designing, and editing - Week 3+4: Editing, refining, revision rounds (2), and final sign-off Once the content is approved, we’ll ask you to post it on your social platforms and share the link with us to confirm everything aligns with the guidelines above. BUDGET $1,500 USD INSPIRATION Here are some creators who get it. Watch how they turn the everyday into something unmissable! Through clever editing, honest storytelling, and that spark of realness you can’t fake! They’re proof that authenticity always wins. These are the kinds of videos that make you want to grab your camera right now so study them, take notes, and let them inspire your own spin on the brief. 1. *Who should apply - Members of the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship* Purpose (in a sentence): Help Adobe Illustrator build a fresh library of artwork for use in online campaigns. Project overview: Create iconic artwork images that represent the precision and power of the tools in Illustrator in a compelling way, whilst showing off your own unique style. We want you to tell your story in these artworks and bring your creative flair to life. The context: The artwork from this brief will go into a library that can be used across any Illustrator campaign. Creative considerations: - We’re looking for designers and artists who go bold – we’re looking for a mix of big statements, ideas and individuals who can showcase what Illustrator and its features are truly capable of. We want bright colours, bold textures/patterns, and visual tension. - The artwork will be used in for digital campaigns in Europe. Our artwork needs to be generic enough to be used in different countries - however we’re open to exploring some cultural flavour in our visuals. - The artwork should reflect your personal creative world - how you naturally use Illustrator and your distinctive style. - We’re looking for unusual and compelling demonstrations of Illustrator, while still highlighting key use cases and specific features. - Visuals should be easy to adapt. They will be part of an editable design system, allowing elements like background colours, UI icons, and design components to be swapped or added for different campaign needs. - We value original, human-made creativity. Generative AI can be used as a supporting tool but should not dominate the work. Any AI-assisted elements must be clearly disclosed.
