RDM for students
For students, working with data often raises questions about how to properly handle data. What legal and ethical concerns should be taken into account when re-using or collecting data? How can standardized file names and folder structures prevent chaos in large amounts of data? What does FAIR actually mean? And: What should be considered when storing data? With our workshops and materials on RDM for Students, we will help you find answers to these questions.
In the UB|SchreibCamp, we offer workshops for students in each semester.
In addition, courses and materials from the project [email protected] will allow students to gain an overview of the field of research data management through self-guided study.
Your upgrade for academic work and writing projects
This weeklong event covers all aspects of academic writing. The programme includes planning, citation, reference management, and tips on various tools – including workshops on research data management conducted by the Research Data Services. In addition, experts from the library teaching team will offer individual research support.
Take part in community writing sprints to motivate yourselves (and others!) and find writing buddies to help each other out even after the Camp.
The next UB|SchreibCamp will take place in the week from 1 September to 5 September 2025 in the LK Library on the Duisburg campus.
In the project [email protected], the DataCampus of the University Library Duisburg-Essen, in collaboration with the Landesinitiative für Forschungsdatenmanagement – fdm.nrw, the University of Wuppertal and the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, has created courses for students and teaching materials for lecturers about RDM. All courses are made available as Open Educational Resources (OER) via the state portal ORCA.nrw.
