TWitter: My argument
Twitter is about being connected and during an emergency or crisis
situation everyone wants to be connected. More often than not news
breaks first on Twitter and then spreads across multiple digital,
broadcast and print platforms. Twitter is THE social network for public
information officers to spread and even control information.
If social media is a part of your crisis communication plan, and it should
be, Twitter could be the only social tool you need. It is the tool to use
to alert  and update news media and social influencers as a situation
develops and plays out. Its integration into your organization’s website
makes it a valuable tool simply because you don’t have to be on
Twitter to still benefit from the information in your Tweets.
