Reference: Drawing as Expression –contour, p.53; cross-
contour, p.49, 60; hatching, p. 41, 71,77, 86—87; cross-

value only through dots of black pen.
  3. Choose a tool. To learn about your object, do both blind
and modified contours of the tool.
  4. Journal Assignment: Researching your Object.
  5. Learn about cross-contour and hatching. Selection a
portion of your object and zoom in on it complete each
     technique in pen and ink.
  6. Journal Assignment: Begin Technique pages for each of CROSS-CONTOUR
the techniques we complete in class. Include a Title and
     a reflection for each technique.
  7. Make a value sphere using cross-hatching in pencil.
  8. Make a value sphere using cross-hatching in pen.
  9. Zoom in a portion of your tool and make a High-
     Contrast drawing in black ink.

                                                                   HATCHING
10. Begin creating value washes to make a value collage sphere. Use 6x6
piece of drawing paper to make a value collage.
  11. Include all the techniques in the Technique Journal pages. Don’t forget
     a title and a reflection.

change the composition as your work on each
     drawing.
  3. Finally compose the drawing using your six pieces.
                                                               CROSS-HATCHING

                                                                VALUE COLLAGE

                                                               HIGH-CONTRAST
