- 10. The Third Generation •• The development of the integrated circuit was the hallmark of the third generation of computers.
- 11. The Fourth Generation •• The microprocessor brought the fourth generation of computers, as thousands of integrated circuits were built onto a single silicon chip.
- 12. The Fifth Generation •Based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). • There are some applications, such as voice recognition, that are being used today.
- 16. Keyboard • A computerkeyboard is defined as the set of typewriter-like keys that enables you to enter data into a computer or other devices. Computer keyboards are similar to electric-typewriters but contain additional typing keys.
- 18. Types of Keyboard •There are two major types of computer keyboards: – Basic and Extended.
- 19. Basic Keyboard • TheBasic keyboard contains 104 keys and is enough to perform all the functions that can be done on a Windows PC.
- 20. Extended keyboard • TheExtended keyboard may have additional keys, and the design varies among the companies manufacturing them. These are usually customized keyboards that are specific to certain operating systems or applications.
